1st Vette and NewB from Alabama
Hi Guys! I have dreamed of owning a Corvette for 44 years. I picked a Torch Red 2004 just weeks before my 59th BDay. The first night was terrible, I'd wakeup every hour, go to the garage and yell "I own a Vette".
At first my wife was not impressed especially with me waking her and several neighbors during that first night, but she did warm up to it. I think it's people coming up to us and talking to her. I may have jokingly said something like "and with a Vette I can easily find another wife".
She (the Vette) needed some cosmetic work and was in the shop for 7.3 days... I thought I was gonna die. The previous owner should be in prison for Vette abuse. I'm still working to clean the exhaust I was surprised to fine they are chrome.
Since April 23rd (when I made the purchase) we have joined the Corvette Museum, purchased matching coats and hats, toured Kentucky and Tennessee with the top down found this great forum and with a donation to a veterans group was given 10 laps on Talladega Speedway. Yes, I did upload a pix to my gallery on this forum. We belong to a local club in Huntsville and have been in a Vetts only tour. Best of all we are meeting some great people... Vetter's and every day people who just love Vettes.
The only problem I'm having is this "SMILE" on my face, not even sure if an undertaker could remove it. .
I look forward to the forum and possibly meeting you on the road.
