I have wanted a Corvette since I was a kid. Throughout my life I have flirted with other makes and models...restored a couple of Datsun 240Zs, have a 67 Camaro project in the garage, had Mustangs, Audis, etc. but have always loved the Vette.
After catching me for the 1,000,000th time surfing these forums and looking at the "for sale" ads, my wife finally said "just do it already." Guess that was the straw.
so now in my driveway is a new 09 C6, Jetstream blue 2LT, A6, Z51, NPP. I had wanted a stick but my longish commute convinced me otherwise, and JSB was a "must have".
Hrmmm, what to buy first... Lloyd's mats, aftermarket NAV...nice dilemmas.
PREFACE: Let me know if this is poor form to respond in the "intro" threads with this detail and/or if I should respond in other threads with new owners other than here.

I love seeing the Audi TDI prototypes in-person at Sebring and on Speed and other channels during the GT season. But there's still nothing compared to hearing those C6.R open up and just passing the non-prototype competiton. I can only imagine what it sounds like to Ferrari, Porsche and other drivers when the C6.R "sneaks up" (or, rather, doesn't) from behind.

Sweet! I love that Jetstream Blue, it's my absolute favorite. It would likely keep better in the Florida heat for us, but it was so hard to find in a 1LT. My wife loves the Cyber Gray Metallic and I do have to say I really like how the red in the logos mesh with it as much as I like how the red contrasted with the Jetstream Blue. I'm still slightly partial to that unique Blue plus that little Red here and there against it.
With the 1LT I'm just the bare Z51+NPP myself -- and damn if I don't love to open it up just to hear that dual[-mode] exhaust (does everyone just say NPP? yes, I'm new to all these options) in 1st gear (keeping my speed down or otherwise I'd be at almost 80mph in 2nd before I knew it .

Totally with you there. I shouldn't have been shocked by how much force the clutch requires on that supercar powertrain, but I was. If this was my daily commute vehicle, I would have gone with the A6. But since it's not, and we have two (2) commuter vehicles (this being our "pleasure"), I opted for the Z51 M6.
Is it me or is 5th gear virtually redundant at 0.71 when 6th is 0.57? I haven't driven 500 miles yet (and will only put about 5K/year on it, maybe 7-8K the first year or two), but I honestly just skip it and go from 4th to 6th.

It is just a striking color, and definitely not a fad as it and variants have been around for years in C3 on-ward (possibly C2? I'm not the most knowledgeable on the color offerings over the years, at least not older). It's still my #1 color choice, but I have to say this Cyber Gray is damn clean and flush looking with the dark windshield posts and ebony interior as well.

Yep, that's why I just opted for the 1LT over the 2LT, even though it limited my color options, I couldn't justify moving up to anything less than the 3LT for the money. So I just dropped $1K in accessories myself between Eckler's (local in Titusville) and West Coast Corvette (WCC). Eckler's is running a coupon "BOX" with 15% most items through Black Monday (11/30).
Speaking of mats, does everyone like the large'n loud logo (+ optional Corvette) or the sideways'n smaller logo (+ Corvette)? I went with the former, large'n loud logo with the matching cargo mat kit for under $250 with the "BOX" coupon at Eckler's (in ebony/silver) ... https://www.ecklers.com/product.asp?...7&dept_id=1593
But I'm wonder if these would look better, let alone not get "worn" by feet constantly digging right at the logo (although I did order the Lloyd plastic protectors too): http://www.westcoastcorvette.com/p-2...7-2010-c6.aspx
One thing I pre-ordered from WCC was a pair of Z51 badges, something you might want to consider -- although I'm still trying to gage if people will think it's "tacky" or "Z06 wannabe" given how cheap the Z51 option is (although it's seemingly not available on 2010s): http://www.westcoastcorvette.com/p-2...-05-10-c6.aspx
I'm going to opt for an installed, factory HUD at some point, even if the 1LT/2LT windshield doesn't show the same contrast/clarity as on the 3LT/4LT windshield (which includes it standard).
Glad to have other, new people here and hope to seeing your sweet Jetstream Blue at some, future event!
Hello Robert welcome to the Forum and congratulations on your beautiful new vette. Hey any wife that would tell you to buy a Corvette would be a keeper.
