Hello CF Nation,
After renting a C6 from Hertz last spring in NYC I knew I eventually had to get one. (Note to casual visitors...do NOT rent any yellow HZHs unless you're prepared to buy a Vette down the road. Best marketing ploy ever.)
Got a nice deal on a 47,000 mile 6-speed. White with black interior. I set out to search for my perfect balance between good shape and affordability. I want to really drive and enjoy the thing without any worry whatsoever about wear or depreciation. I believe I found just that.
The previous owner didn't have much time for the car (<1,000 miles in 2.5 years) so a week-long detailing effort really made a big difference when I got it.
We had 60 degree weather this past weekend here in Eastern MO. I had so much fun with this thing this weekend I cannot believe it. A series of one and two hour drives in the country for no other reason than to burn dead dino juice. The thing is just a blast to drive. I must have asked the wife 10x if she needed any errands run!
Anyway, thanks for all the great archived info on this site. Really looking forward to learning as much as I can.

I'm new here too, but I did the same thing. Rented a Hertz Corvette ZHZ on vacation and was amazed how powerful and how comfortable the new C6s were. Now I've got the bug for a newer Corvette to drive on a regular basis (except for snow and heavy rain).
