Hi everyone! I'm really looking forward to getting to know some fellow Corvette heads. I do not have a Corvette, yet, but the plan is in motion for within 6 months. The lease isn't up on my truck until 6/10 and I'm not sure yet if I'll have/need to run it all the way out. As I see it, I have 2 options:1) lease a new one or 2) buy an 08 (gotta have the LS3!) My color choices are Crystal Red, Atomic Orange, Black in that order, coupe. The CR is irresistible, but I sure like the way the AO just explodes in the sun! I've been reading the forums and I think I'm becoming obsessed with Corvettes My preferences, according to budget which seems to preclude getting into a Z06 are: LS3 trim, NPP, F55, dual tops (or at least the glass). I'm hoping to find a good deal here and would appreciate a poke if anyone sees what I'm looking for. Input/opinions welcome, the more I know the better equipped I will be when 'my time' comes. Thanks so much everyone. It feels like there's a welcome wagon out and you all have made me feel very comfortable here. I've got the bug and it's bad I just sent my last two (twins) to college and it looks like my current budget doesn't allow me to actually buy a new c6, so the next best thing is to check out lease costs vs buying an 08. Problem I ran into... I came here to research c6's and get acquainted. Well then, I start looking at Z06's and drooling. weak, I guess I really like the widebody look. I'll probably not be doing much modding, especially if I end up leasing. So anyway, I think a good place to start would be a used 08, pref 3LT <10K miles, NPP, dual roofs, CRM/AO, auto. The prices I am seeing here and Auto Trader seem around 37K-43K. My truck lease is up mid 2010 and since I'm (actually GMAC) upside down I don't believe I'll be able to sell it before that (I have the smart buy lease). So if I buy used I'll probably have to wait til mid next year and I'll order new if I can get a good deal from my dealer. I gotta stop trying to read every post and forgetting to eat...
