I have owned several new Corvettes over the years starting with 1969 427, 1970 454, 1973 350, 1976 L86, 1979 350 then a 2001 black C5 conv't and now a velocity yellow 2008 436hp C6 conv't. Had my wheels painted velocity yellow also but brake dust is driving me crazy. Thinking of changing to ceramic brake pads. Anybody have any experience with these.
Welcome to the Forum!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations on your C6 vert!! Enjoy the car and the Forums.
As for the brakes, yes, many have swapped ceramic pads for the stock pads. Far less dust or at least less visible and easier to remove dust, far less if any noise and equivalent stopping power in street use. However ceramics are not recommended for any type of track use. They fade fairly quickly as they heat up. If you want to do some reading here's an old thread (from last year) discussing them. There are many more if you do an Advanced Search in C6 General.
