I am a 08 Z51 owner with 6 speed auto. My first corvette was a 94 lt1 convertible. Got that during my stay in USA. I have driven european, japanese and American cars but only corvette grabed my soul with its humming v8. For me corvette is the best American car ever, a true legend.
Anyways let me speak about my car. I changed the heads, cam, intake manifold, placed vararam cold air intake, catalytic convertors taken off, new program, zo6 headers, z06 shocks, hotchkis sway bars, oil cooler system, larger transmission quarter w/ cooling system. Right now my car is around 550hp, possible 600 but we reduced the power to protect the transmission. Next year I will put a 6 speed manuel and continue upgrading the car.
When I bought the car was 436hp. couple weeks later I put vararam and a new program. With this set up my 0-60 was 4.2 100miles in 9 sec. Top speed was 195mph. Now I am assuming that I can reach 60 around 3.8 and top speed to be 200 maybe 205mph.
Around here American cars are import car and very expensive. A new C6 runs for $160.000 and a z06 $190.000. So only true vette lovers dare to buy these cars and willing to pay gas prices like $12per gallon . Here is gas prices are crazy. The government puts more than 100% tax on gas to be able to pay up debts to IMF.
You guys are lucky. The new sweet z06 is around 75k over there with reasonable gas prices. As I stated before only true vette lovers buy these cars under those conditions in Turkey.
