Actually my second intro, but I just received the car so I thinks it's OK -
Hi folks, just sort of inherited an "84 my late father-in-law picked up a few years ago. Car was in Florida where it sat for about 2 1/2 years. While it was down there I had it towed to a local general repair shop just to get it in running condition and have it shipped open-trailer up to my place in the Chicago area. Well, after about $3,200 (all new brake system, gas tank removal/cleansing, new fuel pump & filter, new valve covers & gaskets, TBI cleaning, new battery, new-used top, and a new radiator fan) it's here. I had to tear it away from that shop, think I paid for enough Christmas bonuses.
It arrived the day after New Years. Still needs mucho TLC, for starters - nothing works on the instrument cluster, and I'm a do-it-yourselfer so I guess you'll be seeing me around here asking a bunch of newbie questions.
Actually, really looking forward to getting into this car, been a life time dream to own a Corvette . Now if my pocket book can just stand the strain, I'll be OK.

Welcome to the forum. I hope all goes well while you bring it back life. I know there are always problems to overcome but have fun while your working through them. Thats what I'm trying to keep in mind when working on my first vette. SO FAR it's been a good experience and I hope it will be for you also.
