Hey there!
Wanted to introduce myself to the forum.
Name is Steve, I'm 23 and reside in San Antonio, Texas!
"long" time owner and fan of P*rsche, and am wanting to pick up a 'vette soon.
Wasn't sure where to post this question so I'll try it here in my intro thread... What is the difference between all the different models? I tried googling and even searching the forum but it's all over the place...
There's one I am looking at right now that is listed as a "Vehicle: 2004 Corvette Coupe"
I know it is probably not a Z06, but how can I confirm what type of model it is (engine size, hp, etc..)
Welcome to the forum. You will know it's a ZO6 if it's a 2002-2004 because it is a fixed roof coupe (non hatchback) and will say ZO6. it will also have a 405 hp motor instead of the 350 hp motor the coupe (hatchback) comes with. If it's a coupe it can be a base model or a have the Z51 package which is upgraded suspension and brakes. That car you are looking at appears to be a base coupe. It's a nice looking ride.
it has ~54,000 miles and is pretty clean
asking price is $18,900, this about right?
I am going to go look at it tomorrow since the lot is closed and i'll be able to poke around a bit.. is there anything in particular i should look for? (special "drips", body damage that may reveal something else, other hidden things only an experienced 'vette owner would know about)
Just a thought, you might go to the C5 General section, open a thread and ask if there is anyone in the area that would have the time to go with you and check out the new car. A long time C5 owner would know what to look for and may give you some negotiating leverage if they spot anything unusual about the car. Good Luck!!!
