Just rejoined the ranks of 'Vette ownership again with the purchase of
a '09. I still feel there is not much to compare to the Corvette performance in the same price range. Admittedly, we got the auto to keep the little woman happy (I'm too old, and the clutch too expensive to attempt to train on a manual). Last 'Vettes I owned were a '68 and '69 (C3. the next to worst generation) in the late '70's. Both were abused machines, but were relatively cheap and fit the bill for a high school car nut. Lots of horror storys with those beast (rear brakes?), but they still live in my memory. My new '09 is already in the shop for a trans/diff leak which I am not too happy about. I don't know if I should be pissed that a modern 50K vehicle has a trans leak, or that I should be thankful that I have a 'Vette that is under warranty. Guess I'll see how the next year plays out.
