Traded a Financee for my life long dream
I wanted to introduce myself as a new vette owner. I have been lurking on the forum for a little while, but I thought I should make a formal introduction.
I had a long term relationship break up, so I pursued a life long dream and bought a 1969 coupe. I had seen the Mako shark show car as a child (Dad was a gearhead too), and been in love with the 69-72 C3's ever since. Although I would like to one day own a NCRS quality vette, this one will certainly never be so. But she looked so lonely, abandoned and mistreated, that I had to rescue her. She will make a wonderful daily driver and will surely bring me hours of joy.
I am documenting the trials of my work to get her into driving condition on my myspace blog (www.myspace.com/vetteobsessed) and I look forward to tapping into the vast knowledge on this site.

Welcome.....
I have a 01 coupe out of practical purposes...but when I see a mint 1969-1971 in a red with that chrome.....man..it makes my knees weak....lol....they are just beautiful to me. As a kid, I used to put together 69 vette models and paint them..even loved them then and dreamed of having one.....
Good luck on your project

My '69 is up for sale ($4500 + $340 for a 383 shortblock) because I've lost the best girlfriend I've ever had and I want her back.
I was selfish, self-centered and materialistic. Anyone else want a project '69? It was one of the roots of my evils as far as me treating my ex-girlfriend with disrespect. I never knew what 'love' or "being in love" meant until her (my ex-girlfriend, not the car.)

Thanks for the warm welcome. Unfortunately, the pictures make the paint job look better than it is. It is more faded than it appears and it is really a 20 footer, with crack, chips etc. A new paint job is called for, once the mechanicals are sorted out. She has really been abused, so it will take some TLC to get her ready for duties as a daily driver.
