WOW!!! I actually thought this was a joke when I had seen it posted yesterday and didn't give it a second thought. I still have a very hard time with this because it saddens me to come to the reality that we all lost a very special person here on the forum. David, you will be truly missed but never forgotten because you will always be in our hearts. And if there truly is a heaven I hope and pray to GOD he reserved a corvette with black wheels just for you my friend. Although we never met, i wish you peace in heaven and hope one day to finally meet you there. Bill Van Dam

It hurts me greatly to inform everyone that David aka Hameister passed away Tuesday afternoon around 3:30pm. He died of a heart attack. Ironically he was found in the garage floor laying next to his corvette. David was a father, a step father, a husband, a brother, and a friend. He was a smart, loving, caring, generous, genuine, funny, and sarcastic man. He was a corvette enthusiast to the max. He will be missed. His memories will be with us forever.

I don't think it's a hoax but it would be nice if the person who posted this would come back with a link to Davids memorial or obituary. I would like to know a little more about our forum friend and be able to send condolences to his wife.

I'm sure they are in shock right now so it is understandable. I'm glad they told us what happened.

Certainly have an empty feeling this morning. My condolences to all of the regular posters in Hammy's thread. A totally unexpected passing is difficult. This, I'm sure, blind-sided everyone. Very sad.

It's pretty amazing they posted it at all. If something ever happened to me I would vanish off this forum without a trace since I know my wife would never think to come on here and announce my departure. I may have to leave her some written instructions.

I agree with both comments. And I love your new avatar...a tribute to Hammy!

And I agree about my wife as well. She wouldn't have a clue how to come on here and post or may not even think about it.
It's kinda crazy how some of you become somewhat like family over the years although some of us have never met in person.

I agree and wonder if it was his wife.

I'm going to guess his son posted it because I feel his wife would be very distraught to give it any thought. Jmo I don't recall at anytime here on the forum that Hammy ever mentioned anything about heart problems. A very, very sad time indeed for his family and loved ones.
That said, no one in my family would ever even know to post here in my absence . . . they don't know this site, my username, password, or this specific forum.

I'm sure David's password and login was left on save. And IIRC, I believe David shared a lot of his forum experience with his wife since the "Post a pic of your girl and car thread" that of course got locked eventually.
