I have been out of town the past two weeks and for the most part without internet service.
I’m shocked! Bill was always a very helpful man who always extended the utmost courtesy to me and my staff when ever a question was presented to him. He dedicated many hours as a volunteer moderator here and that alone should speak volumes.
Bill will greatly be missed and I would personally like to extend my sincere condolences to his wife and extended family!

I never met Bill but he always felt like a friend from his postings.
He reminds me of a friend that you knew 20 yrs ago and lost touch with. Upon meeting that friend again, you have the same bond like nothing had changed. Those are true friends.
Bill seemed like one of those guys.
Wish you peace Bill.
And best wishes for the family left behind. I hope they find the strength in this most trying time. The outpouring of posts here hopefully will show them what an impact Bill had on so many lives. And in doing so bring them some condolence.
A sudden passing is such a shock and in many ways incomprehensible. I lost my father the same way and think about him often eventhough its been over 30 yrs now.
RIP Bill

The context this week of all the high-profile celebrity deaths has cemented this thought in my mind: IrishMac, Bill, was a real friend, and a really good man. I will truly miss him. Heck, I miss him already, because I keep expecting him to pop in and reply to our posts.
Read this last night:
"The world breaks everyone and afterward many are strong at the broken places." -- Ernest Hemingway
I hope we all wind up a little stronger after the sadness we're experiencing now.
And again, my heart goes out to Kathy and the kids.

I am sorry for your loss
I wish I had a chance to meet Bill. Irsih Mac was one of the first forum names I remember, probably becuase I am half Irish it stuck in my memory right away. Its hard to describe how a certain human factor sets in over time after you share stories, opinions and jokes with strangers several times a week. Bill was a friend I had not met yet.

I Am So Sorry for Your Loss
I am traveling on vacation in Hawaii and only just now got a chance to log on to the forum. I am so sorry for your loss and cannot tell you how many times Bill has personally helped me this past year here on the forum. I will miss him and can only offer my prayers to you and your family during this time of loss. Please know that we will miss him.
Thank you for letting us know.

Here's a pic from the dinner. Rocky wrote me earlier on facebook saying he'd just been looking at our pix from CI before he saw this thread, and this picture immediately came to his mind when he read of Bill's passing.

Must have had my head in the sand. Just found out. I hate when it's unexpected. Sorry to hear of this
