My friend is no longer with us. He was a great person and a true friend.

and yes there seems to have been alcohol and excessive speeding involved. But PLZ let me mentioning it here be the ONLY mention of it here in this thread. Thnx for the understanding.
O' and on a side note I had just sold him that 99 C5 days earlier. He loved that car, had already put Z06 wheels on it, blacked out all the rear lights, ordered exhaust, HIDs installed and more.

Car hits tree
BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A witness to the fatal Thursday morning Corvette accident near the LSU campus says he could smell alcohol in the wreckage and saw wrist bands on both victims suggesting they had been cleared into a club where alcohol was served.
"When they passed by, it sounded like a jet flew by my place and then you heard the crash," said Chabasco E. Looney who e-mailed WAFB News to report that he was first on the scene of the crash on Alvin Dark Ave. north of Brightside Lane.
The 1999 model Corvette struck a tree at what police say was a high rate of speed. The driver was identified as Daniel Bernard, 21 of 1727 S. Brightside Dr. Police say Bernard died instantly after being thrown from the car. His passenger, Casey Ball, 28, was seriously injured. Ball lived at the same address as the driver, Bernard in an apartment complex filled with LSU students which is only 1300 feet from the wreck site.
Baton Rouge City Police say neither man was wearing a seat belt. Police say the car went out of control when it failed to negotiate a gentle left turn near Sharlo Ave. Investigators say they believe alcohol was a factor in the crash at 2:02 a.m.
Casey Ball was being treated at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital.
