For those that didn't know, we lost Hogs to cancer a few years ago.
He was my wingman on many runs up Route 211 on the Skyline Drive cruises.
He is missed by many here. Hope you enjoy the video.

In 1999 a post was up that stated "WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF IT WERE YOUR LAST DAY" by Hogs. We all agreed we would take the vettes up to Skyline Drive and spend the day up in the mountains. When we all met in Front Royal Hogs and I had an instant connection. They say love at first sight never happens, but it did for me and Mike. We e-mailed for a month after that, and in November 1999 Mike moved in with me. We got married in 2001, at the bottom of the Blueridge Mountains and spent our honeymoon with all of our corvette friends at the Fall Skyline Drive Cruise. We ended up buying our dream home in the Blueridge Mountains - and two days after we bought our home, he was diagnosed with liver cancer. He got to spend 6 months in our peaceful mountain home ! And on Christmas Eve 2004 Mike passed away quietly in our loving home.
Mike loved his family, he loved his friends, he loved me, he loved our little dogs - HE LOVED LIFE. He never once asked "why me" when he knew he was dying. He was so brave and strong! Two days before he died, he was cracking jokes and trying to make everyone else feel okay that he was leaving us. He told me before he died that he would try and come back to see me but that Jesus told him he would be too busy. I asked him how I would know - he said "Look for the license plates" So I spend my days reading license plates up and down the road - and I laugh when I see the funny ones - knowing that it's still Mike's way of making me laugh. I feel Mike in everything - the wind, the trees, the birds chirping, the rain - I take Mike with me in my heart everyday, in everything I do.
There isn't one day that I don't think of Mike and there isn't one day that I don't feel blessed that this wonderful person entered my life and my heart - even it was just for a short time. Some people never find their "soulmate" and I am so blessed that I found mine and know what it feels like.
Sorry this is so long - thank you Frank for remembering and posting about Mikey - he loved you ! He loved talking to you on the phone for hours - he loved it when you would come spend the weekends with us. He loved cruising (very fast) up 211 with you. AND HE LOVED it when I rode my bike so I wouldn't yell at him when he was chasing you up the mountain in the vette ! I just miss him so much
I bought my first corvette from Mikey. His old 1988 Grey Coupe. He let me (18 yo at the time), jump in a test drive it with him. I'll always remember that drive.
