Kevin (25 years old) was the 13th Construction worker in NYC to be fatally injured this year.

He was my cousins best friend and motivated to save up for a corvette after sitting in my 96 LT4 CE Vert.

He was working in a high rise condo and was a Window Installer. The metal ring attached to his safety harness broke and he fell from the 23rd floor onto the 14th floor balcony. My heart goes out to those who's life he touched.

What a shame; from all accounts a well liked individual. RIP

That is terrible.. Sorry to hear that. One has to wonder though why a fall arrestor was not also in use. I'm not familiar with OSHA regs in NYC, but here in WI, you need to be tied off at two different points!

I'm not positive...but I believe you only have to be anchored at one point. Either way...it's too late now. OSHA is all over this job now. It is still shut down and OSHA is reviewing every safety procedure known to man. This will not happen again...what a shame

After reading the story it would appear he was tied off, however the tie down system failed.. Yikes!!!

Thank you all for your sincerity.

From what the family told me, the anchor came out of the concrete. When he landed he snapped his neck and they found the anchor still attached to his safety harness. I hope that make sense. It's very laymen term.

I'm not certain of the details, it was too soon to ask. He was buried last Friday after a beautiful ceremony.

I hope these sites are combed so that this never happens again.
