My mother, in her short 54 year life, fell in love with Corvettes. She owned 4. A 98 coupe, bought used and her first. a 2002, she bought it when the first 0% came through. A 03 because she decided they did the 0% again for a short time and she wanted a 50 year Z06. And the last, I bought for her when she was sick (cancer). She got to the point she could not drive the z06 because of the six speed (Bladder Cancer). The day I took her up to the dealership, I will never forget. I had been taking care of her and new it would not be alot longer before she slipped away, so I let her pick whatever she wanted, as long as it was an automatic, She wanted another Z06! First she tried the coupe, but was not strong enough to lift the top, So off to the shiny new vert sitting inside. 2 hours later she was out driving with the top down.. I only wish she would have had time to pick up a car from the museum.. Anyway, that was a good day. I drive (TOPGN) now, that was her licence plate, so I kept it. I never understood the passion, I do now. Thats all.
Sounds like you took good care of your Mom. I'm sure she appreciated everything you did for her. My Mom passed away last Febuary 2007. So I know how your heart is breaking.
My condolences to you and your family. She sounds like she must have been a "cool kat". I dread the day my mother passes.....though I know it's inevitable.

Sir,
I showed your post to my son and he couldn't hold back his tears. Please accept our deepest sympathy.
My son was deeply touched because I am going through a series of illnesses and not to mention the recent demise of my daughter as well. I am now completely dependent on him as he tries so much to please me in every way he can.
I have projects that I haven't able to finish and he gets up early in the morning during his days off to finish them with the desire to put a smile and life back to me.
I would like to applaud you for the love you showed her....priceless.
