I tried resizing the photo in Lightroom and it isn't a big pic file to begin with as it was taken on my Iphone...I think I'm doing something wrong. How do I upload a profile pic? How do I upload my own album of photos of my car?

The Help Guide illustrates what an Avatar is, and how to upload one, which is what I suspect you're trying to do since you already have a Profile Picture. It also covers the Albums.
