Why does the forum reduce capitals to lower case?

I rarely "holler," but I titled a post to a thread that said, Go CF! and it came out Go cf!

I also noted that uppercase text as the only line in a post will fold to lower case. Is there a reason?

It is a standard option in vBulletin to prevent shouting in thread titles. On the internet, "shouting" by using caps usually is not well received by the readers. CF has the feature enabled. There isn't a lot of options for it and it doesn't work perfectly for every condition. A small tweak may allow "CF" in the thread title.
