You can't. Only a moderator or administrator can do that.

Should be able to change the title yourself.

No, not the title of a thread. You can change what's on the title line of your post, but not the title line of a thread.

Show us in the Testing forum.

I tried it in the Testing forum. Maybe I didn't wait long enough. Let me go see if I can change the one I have in there.

Edit:
You're right, it didn't change. Earlier I went into edit right after I created it and was able to change it.

The titles of the threads are used in the URL. It's not a good idea to change the URL frequently if you care about search rankings with Google (and similar). The forum software would have to maintain the "original title" and send redirects to users (or bots) accessing the original URL.
