Default Am I the only one that has the forum do this?

When I log on to the main page and bring up all of the threads, the new ones or the ones with the replies that I have not yet read are, I think, supposed to be in bold type aren't they?
The BOLD headlines don't come up for me until I've made several trips back and forth in and out of the main page --- even though there are obviously threads that have had replies recently -- according to the times listed on the most recent posts.............does it do this for anyone else? Seems to be the same whether I use Explorer or Firefox................thanks!

As previously stated, Firefox works okay for me, same as always. I did just try it with IE7 and it works the same way - same as always.

I do not ever log out of the forum. I just close my browser. I have shortcuts on my desktop that I double click when I get ready to go back to the forum. Don't know if that makes any difference or not.

Jim......thanks again for getting back to me. I don't know what's up with my forum log in that causes it to do this....its been this way for a long time too.

Saw your post in the C6 section. I think the moderator was a little fast on closing the thread. I have seen the forum behaving the same way for years. I have seen it on IE6 through 8 and maybe before.

Well, after the last couple of days, they are probably a little sensitive to any thread with the word "forum" in it....and yes, they were REALLY quick closing it!!!

What do you see instead of the Bold titles? Titles without bold? Or no titles? And what theme/style are you using?

I usually see the unread discussions in bold, dark grey print, when I log in, and click on "My Recent Posts". But recently that doesn't always happen. Sometimes the discussions are a little bit highlighted in a "medium gray"...

When I log in, all of the threads look the same --- no bold -- even though I can clearly see from the times of postings on the right that there have been new postings since I last logged on....I am using the C6 heading......

For those threads that you don't see the bold font weight, do you see this icon to the left of them: or do you see this one

The second one...just like it is an old thread, but the time and date on the far right show a more recent posting....

The last icon means no activity since your last visit date.

This indicates the system believes those threads are actually read, or have expired based on your last activity.

For example, you sign in around 2PM CT but get called away from your pc immediately after signing in at 2PM CT. You are aware from your pc for 30 minutes. When you return at 2:30PM CT, all posts that previous were shown as unread when you logged in around 2PM CT will now show as read - even if you didn't physically read them.

This is because vBulletin forums, by default, have a cookie timeout feature that is used to determine when a user has become inactive and determines the last visit date - which is used to determine the if there has been new activity in a thread since your last visit.

I can't recall exactly what setting Corvette forum is using, but I'm guessing it's between 15-30 minutes. This means, in basic terms, that when you log in, a timer starts counting down from 30 minutes (if the setting is 30 minutes). Each time you click on an internal link while still logged in, that 30 minute timer is reset back to 30 minutes. Once you stop clicking on internal links, or you move away to a different website, if 30 minutes passes without activity on the CF from your account, you are determined to be inactive and the last visit date on your account will be updated with the last time you physically was active on the forum. All posts before that time/date will then become marked as read.

I hope this makes sense as it's my words while trying to describe how the system works and has worked for some time.

If this doesn't help, please provide some basic step-by-steps that you do that result in this issue so that we can see what is triggering it.
