For Sale/ Wanted sections

This question is for the webmaster and moderators running this website. I enjoy this site very much and have gotten all the help in the world through this site. I was looking through the F/S forums and was wanting to ask if we could have individual threads in the classifieds for each generation to make it much easier to navigate and find what your looking for or selling. I hope I am posting this in the proper section and is only a recommendation. I would find it easier to navigate and conduct business if the classifieds section were broken down like this. For example, in the C6 classifieds section it would look like this: Corvettes for sale Post your C6 corvettes for sale. C6 Parts & Accessories Post your C6 parts and Accessories for sale Wanted!!! Are you looking for a C6 Corvette, Part misc items? Post here

You mean you want to seperate the For Sale section into 2 sections?

For Sale and Want to Buy


so we would have

C6 For Sale

Want to Buy C6

C6 Parts for Sale

Want to Buy C6 Parts

so basically you would double the number of For Sale Forums in each section so that would mean an additional 10 sections to moderate.....

I am gonna say that probably ain't gonna happen for the above reason and more I cannot think of right now...but...we shall see. Thanks for the suggestion.

It would only be 3 sections per generation.

so you are saying add 5 sections total..??

right now, the are 2 classifieds sections for each generation.

you would pretty much be changing the existing 2 and adding 1 section per generation. there are 6 generations so you would be adding a total of 6

so every classifieds section per generation will look like this

parts for sale

Only 5 separate "generation" sections, as the C1 and C2 are combined.

Even with adding 5 new sections, there will still be "cross-posting". Some posters will incorrectly place their ads and that could be more work for the Mods if they wind up havng to police and correct each of the 5 generation sections.

While a WTB section may cause less visual confusion, you can use "WTB" or "Want To Buy" as valid search terms. That way you can look for cars for sale or parts for sale in the current sections.

The index page is getting long enough as it is. As IB adds supporting vendors and their logos, that creates a longer page to scroll thru. Adding 5 sections and the potential for more supporting vendors for those section would only make the index page longer.
