Default Strange issue with my Avatar

I have an animated .gif avatar that doesn't always stay animated. It will work for a few days and then stop. The only way I can see the animation again is if I exit my browser (Firefox 3.0.14 ) and reload it. I've tried logging out and logging back in; that clears cookies but it has no effect.

And sometimes once I reload FF, the avatar will only stay animated for an hour or so.

The avatar is stored on the CF at forums.corvetteforum.com/fstorage/avatars/

Ideas??

The first one I always recommend is to clear your temporary internet files.

Also, have you considered upgrading to the latest version of Firefox?

I tried using IE7 and got the same results. But in IE7 I did delete the cache and now the avatar seems to work fine. I have not cleared the cache when in FF. Didn't think that temp files were the same or in the same directory location between browsers.

Haven't upgraded to FF 3.5 as I had heard some horror stories with that version and WinXP which is the OS I'm using. So far 3.0.14 works fine for me.

Try setting FF to delete the cache automatically every time you close the browser.

Looks like I'm still having the same problem There are times when I can clear the cache in FF when I close the session but don't log out (like overnight), and my avatar will work again. Sometimes it works for days, sometimes it only works for a few minutes. I can close FF, reload it and it will work for awhile. Doing a page refresh (F5 key or the FF refresh button) has no affect.

When I log out, it looks like any CF cookies are cleared.

I have deleted the avatar and uploaded it again with no change.

What's strange is that any other animated gif avatars that other members use work fine all the time. All of the animated smilies work all the time.

Ideas??
