Why is it that every time I try to open a video clip or some other internet address I get this message:

Click to use Active X

My best guess is that it is a browser security setting that you have set. At certain points (say medium high or higher) you get prompted each time an active x control is encountered. This gives you an opportunity to say yes to load it or reject it as a possible security risk.

Thank you. How do I fix this?

If you are using IE, try Tools, Options, Security. Slide the scale to the point where it will allow ActiveX controls.

I tried to do what you recommended. However, a box came up saying that I needed to use medium or higher. When I went to the custom settings, it says I can "enable" or "disable" Activex. Which should I do?
BTW, I sincerely appreciate your help. I am not a computer guy by any stretch of the imagination.

It's a judgment call you will have to make. It is built into security now because of it's potential risk to computers. At some levels they are totally blocked, some prompt each time, some allow them to go all the way.

If you are running a virus checker, spyware tools, and tired of the prompts, then I would say enable them to see what you are missing. Sometimes you won't even notice a difference.

You can also consider the new IE7 that just came out. It has a different "look and feel" but has better built in security. I am using Firefox and like it as my primary browser.

I know, I may not have helped much, but the best I can do is give you enough information to help you make the decision.
