* Edit 7/20/2005*
I have been getting alot of questions still on posting images. Hopefully this will clear things up. Also, per a previous comment, this is for windows based computers
Your pics must be hosted or accessable somewhere on the internet where someone like myself would be able to see them. For example: http://weblocation/myimage.jpg
Think about if I was to send you a website address for you to look at. I would not be able to say look in my c://pictures folder because you cant see whats on my computer.
So in a nutshell:
1. Before uploading your image somewhere, resize your picture if needed, Ideally 640 X 480 pixels works well for alot of people trying to view images.
There are alot of programs to do this. Some free ones are:
I dont use any of the hosting sites because I have a website and my ISP (comcast) allows some webspace also. Your isp might also, check with them.
3. This is where the tuturial below kicks in, this assumes you have completed the above and you can preview your image already on the web by typing the address in your browser like http://weblocation/myimage.jpg If you cant do this, no one will be able to see your image and they will see a red X.
Once you have it loaded and click on the tuturial site, be patient the file is about 1 meg, so make sure it fully loads
HTH,
Mike
Well...I have to say that to actually have to go to the trouble and pain in the a$$ to download pics we wanna have in our "Profile", to a website, in order for them to be seen in our "Profile"...is idiotic. That certainly is a lot of trouble to go to to get pics in a Profile, people. This is the only Forum I've seen that requires us to jump through keyholes to do such an inconsequential thing.
Oh well.
C y'all.

Well its not that much trouble. You do one or the other, the forum profile pics is different from outside hosting. Depends on what you want to do.
Why dont you enlighten us on how people are suppose to see pics if you dont upload them somewhere? How do other forums do it without you uploading?
Here is a very easy to use (and FREE) image hosting service that I don't think has been mentioned previously: http://imagehosting.us/ (they even allow hot-linking)
HTH!

No, you have to copy the properties of a pic "from the web", not from your hard drive. All pics hosted between the image tags will have to be a link such as:

Where you see the 3 lines of code, just grab the bottom one under your thumbnail on photobucket that has the IMG stuff next to it. copy and paste the code to get the picture to insert
Your edit window should look like the pic attached in order to make it appear as it does in this post. The "th_" before the pic means it is a thumbnail. Take that off and you will get the real pic.
