Default Possible Cam Only Group Buy w/ Dynotech Engineering!

All,

I have contacted Dynotech Engineering ( www.dynotech-eng.com ) regarding possibly getting together a group buy for a cam only package. Basically, I really want to go this route, but I don't trust any local "tuners" and would prefer not to have to drive or ship my car to Texas, Cali, or NY to get it done right and at a good price. :)

So, I am looking for those who are interested to sound off in this thread. Most likely, we are talking about people from the Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin (maybe), etc. area. Also, how about some *reasonable* price scenarios that you would like to see based on other group buys around here?

http://www.dynotech-eng.com/c5_camswap.htm

I have contacted the president and he basically wants to see what kind of interest there is out there before coming up w/ the price/terms.

So, who's interested and what kind of price/deal are you looking for? :D

Hmmm, interseting. I have contacted DTE in referrence to LT header install with a dyno tune and have been very happy with them so far. Iwould have the following questions. Price break how much? Timeline for GP and price?
I lokked at the Cam upgrade but thought the 3000+ plus was a little high.
If the time for GP and install is with in 8 weeks, I may be in...

I need to know price before I can say if I'm interested, just like I'm sure DTE wants to know interest before he'll give a price....

A bit of a conundrum I know.

There was a recent Cam GP with bolt on only Dyno numbers over 400rwhp running around $2100 that included an LS1 edit tune. I'm sure with DTE's skilled techs and resources he can match that with an equally agressive cam. If so I'm in :yesnod:

I have the money for a cam sitting in my pocket waiting for a good deal!!!

I am with Aquaman $2100 and I am there :yesnod: . I have the luck to be in Warsaw In. for a few months starting in June, so this may work out very well. So lets Get It Going :D .

I don't know a whole lot about the cam switch, can someone elaborate for me? My main concern would be how it affects normal driveability/reliability. The only "go fast" stuff I've done is Blackwing and exhaust on my 2000. Would I even be able to notice any improvements? How long would they need my car to do the switch? Depending on the answers, I could be in for $2,100.

Eric,

if they were to offer a 228/228 cam you most certainly would notice an improvement. And if tuned right with LS1 edit there would be no noticable drivability problems other then keeping rubber on the rear of the car ;) There are quite a few 228/228 cam only + bolt on cars dynoing over 400 to the the rears.

Thanks for the info J. Sounds good so far. Any idea how long they would need the car? Could it be done in one or two days?

Depending on some of the answers to the questions below I MAY be interested:
- price
- price w/o some of the equipment they listed on the website
- install time
- warranty
- would I have to upgrade the output shaft, etc?
