Speed Seekers at Road America this October....
For those of you framiliar with the event the MFBA/Speed Seekers have at Road America each April, have we got news for you! Todd and his staff at S3 did a fantastic write up on this past April's event in the July issue of Speed, Style & Sound Magazine. We are still working on the details, but may very well have Oct 18th & 19th for track usage. More details are to follow. For the latest, check out http://www.SpeedSeekers.com

I got to check my schedule, I was planning on doing the BMW club event there a few weeks earlier.
BTW: This month's (SEPT.) issue of Popular HotRodding has 2 stories on the MFBA April event with a lot of car pics. If you were there check it out, your car might be pictured in a national publication.

Will the BMW club let nonmembers without BMWs on the track to join in the fun? :seeya

Good question regarding RA. Most car clubs have to let others in to play to cover the track rental/insurance expense.
There are a few cases where you have to have the club make of car to be in the event. The Chicago Porsche Club is one of those. If their region is so large they have to limit it to just their members or some of them would be turned away.
Keep in mind the car clubs are DE events and MFBA is a track event...no instructors but less of the nit picky DE rules.
The Wisconson BMW club, like most in the country, will let other makes in the event.

Good point indeed. The Speed Seekers Event does not offer official instruction, but there are quite a few willing drivers that attend with the credentials to take some under thier wing and help them out.
The variety of car types at our event is always exciting- Porsche GT Cup cars, Panoz GT racers, Mallet, Doug Rippie, Rousche, Bimmers, Vipers and always a good variety of Vettes & more.

I by no means would want to try and get a bunch of vettes to go to the BMW club event, I think that would be somewhat rude, but would anyone else be intrested in taking there vette? Would we be welcome?
Gary I have never been to a track day I just would really like to see what it is like. How much for me to join in at the BMW club even?

Last April I came in from my hot track time and was getting unbuckled and before I got my helmet off I had someone ask If I would ride with them...with out a 2nd thought I was off to their car, and was instructing them in there 1st on track experience.
Anyone who who wants help can get it. And there are a mix of very cool cars @ the MFBA event, not just F bodys.
And the MFBA event, as I posted before, is not extremely **** about nit picky rules like a lot of the other clubs are...but they still run a 1st class safe event.

Because of tax reasons, the clubs are having to get DE participants to join there club (at least the BMW club). Fee for a national BMWCCA membership is $35 and sometime you have to pay a local fee also, like $12.
DE fees range from $225 to $425 depending on the track.
Of course if you just want to come and watch, you don't have to pay anything, or join any club. Sometime though, like at the MFBA event spectators do pay like $5.

DOES THAT PRICE INCLUDE A PASSANGER? HOW MUCH TO COME AND WATCH?

Re: Speed Seekers at Road America this October.... (WisconsinVETTE)
I believe the price to come and watch is $5/day (including parking up in the paddock).
Then, as you will find, if you ask nicely and buy a beer that night.......you can snag a ride with someone. You have to have a helmet though.
Anyone up for a party Sat. night?
If I'm not working Security for this event I'll be up in the paddock (weather permitting)......otherwise I'll probably be at the gate or something....stop by to say :seeya .

Matt are you going to be driving? I am hoping to have an extra $320 to drive my car but I will pay to watch and hopefully catch a few rides if I cant. A party sounds like a good idea to me.

You can read the entire Popular Hot Rodding story on this event at their website. You'll probably spot a few familiar names/cars in the story- http://www.popularhotrodding.com/eve...0309_wideopen/
