I simply have to take this opportunity to thank the people of Woodfield Chevrolet (Schaumburg, IL) for hosting their first annual Corvette/Hummer drag strip event at Great Lakes Dragaway (DaGrove) in Union Grove Wisconsin yesterday (Saturday 5/17/03. They rented the facility exclusively for their Corvette and Hummer customers.
While most companies are cutting back on customer service and customer appreciation I found this event to be a glimpse into the past where we were made to feel special and appreciated for the purchase and service at our chosen automobile dealer!
From the moment I arrived, 9:00am at DaGrove, I was greeted by their friendly staff (which included owners, sales/service managers, corvette mechanics, sales people, customer service people and their families). They actually had goodie bags for their invited guests (customers).
We were all given fabulous instruction by the drag strip staff on how to properly drag race. The approximate number of Corvettes racing were about 30 with another 30 attending. We had the strip to ourselves for about 4 hours before the bracket racing (their chosen venue).
The Hummer owners were able to drive their cars and Hummer demos through a muddy road course. Really cool! I saw quite a few Vette guys enjoying the Hummers that Woodfield provided as well.
Woodfield Chevrolet provided excellent food, drink, trophies, door prizes, and most importantly staff to answer any questions from where the donuts were to why the Z06 engine is so fantastic.
They even had a tow truck there to tow back any unlucky drag racer that broke. Unfortunately, I was the one that got towed. My rear end went out on the third pass. Oh well, thats drag racing for you!
Bottom line here is how wonderful it is to get this type of customer appreciation from a dealer in this day and age.
THANK YOU WOODFIELD CHEVROLET! :flag
Re: WOODFIELD CHEVROLET DOES IT BETTER! (SMOKENN C5)
I bought my first C5 (used) from them. I took the car to a mechanic and he noticed the car was repainted, still had masking tape underneath and over spray. I returned the car the next day and Woodfield said that is why I got a good deal. They did not mention about the damage until I told them about it.
I too purchased my C5 used from them. The car was mint with 6200 miles. The 2 salesman involved in the transaction were terrific and the price that I paid was very fair. My experience with their service department concerning warranty issues (front disc brakes were hanging up) has been wonderful.
I am so pleased with them that I brought my sister-in-law over after visiting several other dealers for a used car and they were able to put her into a really clean mini-van for a great price and also gave her a good deal on her trade in. She has been driving the car for 5K problem free. I am confident when I recommend Woodfield Chevrolet to friends and family!

I am telling people to stay away from them.
When I used to live Schaumburg, I'd always go and check out the vettes & other cars. It seemed most of the cars were overpriced and most had something wrong with them. The salespeople were always very pushy & sometimes rude.
After looking at a Syclone they had, and not getting down to a decent price(there were a few electrical gremlins in it), they tried to sell me another car and I had to ask for my keys back about 4 times(trade in). Maybe things have changed since.
When I was 19 I was looking for my first vette. Woodfield Chevy didn't take me seriously and tried instead to try and sell a car to my friend that was with me.
I just wondered how long ago this was. Obviously, my experiences have been very positive! How long ago was this? I know that the ownership changed several years ago and I guess their attitude along with it. Again, nothing but a pleasure to deal with!

My first time dealing with them was 10 years ago, then every now & then afterwards, up to about 95.

Re: WOODFIELD CHEVROLET DOES IT BETTER! (JOHNNY P.)
I bought a used 98 in January 2000. I did a little homework before taking it back. The car had always been service at their dealership. So I called the service department and made up a story about my insurance company needing some info about the past damage to the car. The service department gave me the info that the front end was replaced because the car rearended another car. So when I went pack to the salesmen and informed him (his jawed drop) on what I found out. They took the car back and gave me a ride home.

I got my Corvette at Woodfield and in my opinion everything was great. The price I paid was very fair and more towards the low end of the price range. Not a darn thing wrong with the car and it has worked perfectly ever since I bought it from them. Salesman was very friendly with no high pressure at all. Everything he told me about the car is true and correct and I have no complaints whatsoever.
