Default Bloomington versus 50th Anniv. Caravan

In the great wisdom of scheduling Bloomington is the same week/end as the 50th Anniv. caravan.
Which are you going to, if any?
:chevy :auto: :steering: :grouphug:  :seeya

Bloomington Gold, with the exception of last year the BG show has always been held on the last weekend of June.

We're going to Bloomington because it's close to home and more importantly, because I can drive the Vette right to the show.

The 50th caravan sounds cool, but after you get to Nashville, say good bye to your Vette and hello to a bus.

For us, one of the coolest things about Corvette events is parking in a field of hundreds or thousands of Vettes and walking around talking to other nuts. Sorry GM, but I think you missed the boat when you planned the 50th celebration.

The only chance of us going to the 50th is if we get enough vacation time to join the caravan. Once we leave Bowling Green though, we're off to see my Dad in Crossville, TN instead of the "big show" in Nashville.

Ahhhh.....Think you have that backwards. Bloomington has been held the last full weekend of June for years. For some reason Chevy decided to schedule its sales event for the same weekend as Bloomington.

I'll be at Bloomington. I'm more into that style of show with the judged cars, parts, auctions, parts, cars for sale, parts, road tour, etc. Been to the '94 Grand Opening, '99 5th Annual Caravan & the 2000 NCRS Nats at Bowling Green. This "Nashville Show", to me anyways, will just be more of the same. :yesnod:

I will probably attend Bloomington Gold (St. Charles Gold) because it is 5 miles from my Dog House!

See you there!

Seems we have a 50/50 split here for Bloomington / Nashville. But in this poll: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zero...ply&id=4735871 it is almost all for Nashville

Bloomington :) We also have 10 rooms booked. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=494140
Tony you need to post more info on the rooms. How far from St. Charles? Phone number, contact info, etc. etc. we are also looking to hook up with any one going through Milwaukee or Chicago area. We are leaving Milwaukee area 7:30am and staying Saturday night only.

Bloomington gold all the way!! Caravan is a one time event, as Bloomington gold is annual. Lots to do , see, and buy at Bloomington.
Drive all the way to Kentucky to park, and ride a bus?? Might as well go Greyhound!!
How dare GM book this during a weekend that has been annual for years? A liitle biased are they?? :steering:

I just looked on Expedia and they are showing rooms available at the Country in in StCharles and the Comfort Inn and the Harrington Inn in Geniva IL. So there are some rooms still available.
