Default corvette @ carlisle Columbus Ohio who is going

Slated to head over on Thursday evening or Friday morning just depends on where I end my day on Thursday.
1st time attendee - any words of wisdom from others that have gone in the past?

Last time I got to go was back in 2009. Best piece of advice I can say is to have a comfortable pair of shoes. There can be a lot of walking.

Some other words of wisdom, if you want to eat at one of the places close to the grounds or one of the "normal" places, do not go during normal meal times. Or go somewhere that takes reservations.

Sun Screen! Unless you plan to be in the grandstands or under your tent the entire time, there isn't much natural shade.

After that, what are you looking to get out of the trip? The swap meet area has lots of C2, C3, and even C4 parts. Not too much in the way of newer than that, but sometimes you find something out there.

But all of the vendors have parts for the late models. Want a new exhaust? They will pop yours off and slam a new one in very quickly.

I am still on the fence about going. I want to, but I'm just watching the timing of the event with my work calendar. I will make up my mind this weekend.

Current goals are to take my DD out so I can haul parts back if I buy some.
Thoughts go to cold air intake, spare wheels, spoilers, splitter
I am a swap meet junkie so I always spend a fair amount of time their.
Looking forward to seeing all of the vendors products.

I am planning to go again and drive my dd or pickup. Yep, wear some good shoes. I usually drive out Saturday morning from the north side of Columbus and arrive around 7am and drive back late afternoon. Yep, it a great show. I have a several c3 and a c4 and pretty much don't need any parts, but I if see a deal of c3 parts(tach drive distributors/etc) I will buy.

I got my pass in this weekend! So one way or another, I am going to be there again. I typically drive out late Thursday afternoon and start hitting the grounds Friday morning, go until mid afternoon on Saturday, and then head back home. But I am thinking about staying for the parade thru town, not to drive the four speed, but to be a spectator and watch some of the other nice Corvettes cruise thru. Maybe, I have seen some past videos and it isn't too exciting with them going 5 mph and then stopping and just crawling.

If anyone is looking for something specific, feel free to send me a PM with your wish list a "top amount" that you would pay, and your name and phone number. If I run across something, I will give you a call while I am on site, let you have the choice to say yes or no if you truly want / need it and I will bring it back to Columbus.

Hope it is a good year!

Offer still stands if anyone needs parts. Can even haul some of the "bigger" items as we are trailering the car out to Carlisle.

I plan to go thru the swap area on Friday only!
