Annual Ohio Corvette Club Alliance, Gathering XI. Sunday, July 13, 2014
First off, I am in no way affiliated with the club or the group that organizes this event. But with that said, I have been able to attend a few of these events in the past (years 8 and 10) and have been really impressed with the number of Corvettes that show up. They aren't kidding when they say 400 - 500 Corvettes show up. It is really a great picturesque scene to see the Corvettes lined up the hill.
Would anyone from the Columbus area (or further north) want to meet up on the way down and caravan into Lancaster? Maybe meet up at the Old Bob McDorm (Now Jeff Wyler) Chevy dealership in Canal Winchester? Meet at 8:45am and depart at 9am? They say the show starts at 10am, but there isn't any judging or anything like that.
Here is the info from their latest e-mail blast:

Grant, its a great corvette show and I would love to make it. However, I will be at the Arthritis Classic Show all of Friday and Saturday. Got to spend some time with the family. For those that have never attended this event, its one of the best and the weather should be great.

So I told the people directing, and they had me go over to one of the side streets (the main street was pretty full anyway) and I had a direct path to get out easily.
This isn't one of those events where you have to stick around all day.
Rick, I will see you down in Canal Winchester Sunday morning. I will do my best to keep up with my little 350 4-speed.

Hey Rick. Doesn't look like there is going to be much of a caravan. And at this point I am going to watch the radar. Scattered showers tomorrow, but it sounds like that will be in the evening.
At this point, go ahead and go at your own leisure. Let's not worry about meeting up in canal Winchester. Let's just enjoy the cruise and show.
Be safe everyone.

Well, I got down there around 9am and had to leave around 11am. Not as strong of a turn out as years past. The hill wasn't even filled up, and they hadn't reached the "main street" at the very bottom by the time I left. There were some cars still rolling in which was good, but the side streets were wide open this year. Still, a nice mix of Corvettes overall. More C2's than I expected. It misted a little before I left, but nothing that made people run and hide or throw their tops back on or roll up the windows. Hope it stayed nice the rest of the day for everyone.
If time permits next year, I will go back.
