Passing the Word, Downtown Westmont, IL, now has a GREAT Cruise Night every Thursday!
FINALLY, the Village of Westmont has put things together finally after 13 years of trying, and the last 2 years now their Thursday night show right on Cass Ave, downtown Westmont, is AWESOME!!
The trick that launched this show as of last year is they now finally block off 3 entire city blocks on Cass Ave, starting north of the tracks, and this is what has made the show a big success. at 5:00 pm they block the street off and all the car shows then park diagonally facing the middle of the street so they are parked on both sides of the street like this, with the civilian traffic walking down the middle admiring what will be at least 200 to 300 cars on a great summer night. Its called a street fest and people are walking around and able to have a few brews also while listening to the live band and admiring the cars.
POLICE vehicle night is 2 weeks from today and that is always a HUGE show. Military night is in the end of July and that rocks also!
Went there on the first night of the year in my new to me 1965 Dodge Coronet 500 (the Silver Bullet) and the show was rocking. Their is live band, a DJ, and the show is now run by Dennis, aka the "Big Bopper" and he does a great job.
BETTER NEWS, not matter how late you arrive there will be parking for you at this show! For those in the western burbs check this Village show (no parking lot show) you won't be disappointed!
