I'm not intending to hijack the thread but neither Becker or Fagan ever confirmed it was about Ducornet. I am not sure that either one revealed the intended meaning in public at any point. It's been interpreted by many as being about drugs, homosexuality, infatuation with a married woman, Ricky Nelson, Rick Derringer, and a whole lot more. The truth is, it's probably a song about nothing or at least nothing that people think it means. However, the mystery of its true meaning makes the song much more compelling lyrically. And since when does talking about the meaning of song lyrics make someone a homophobe?
