Default Ammo

Anyone having any luck finding ammo? My last two orders from Sportmans Guide went from delayed to cancelled. I ordered this stuff 6 months ago.

GATS was out Saturday on 9 and 22.

Taking some of the fun outta this.

If you're finding any please advise thanks. Probably have a three month supply for my needs.

I remember when guns were a fun hobby. Now it's stressful and major pain.

George,

.22 cannot be found anywhere right now but do check in with Cabelas every other day or so as they had some CCI Stinger that I heard was sold fast this past weekend.

Yes, I was a GATS this weekend picking up my new Ruger LCP .380, which will be a great carry conceal weapon when I am using my UTAH permit out of state, or when we eventually get carry conceal in this horrible state. The Ruger LCP is a great pocket gun that only weight 9.4 ounces empty, holds 7 rds chambered, and is too cool to pass up for only $300. At that time I also and saw for the first time they (GATS) were out of .9 mm. They had just about all other calibers except .22 of course. I spoke with the guys at Gats this weekend and they told me they will be getting .9 mm in anyday now, and I would call them every other day as their customer service over the phone is excellent. If you call Gats to check for .9 mm in the new few weeks also ask them about .22LR, as you might pick the right day that it comes in. The last several weeks b/f this weekend Gats did have .9mm in stock by not .22 LR (Which if the only impossible caliber to find right now).

Also, give a call over to Midwest Guns in Lyons as there is a decent chance they will have .9 mm in stock.

I bought 5,000 rounds of assorted brand, factory fresh .22lr recently for $30/brick (500-550 rnds). Found it via http://midwestguntrader.com/

If you look hard enough, you can find it. Check places like craigslist too.

I found some 9mm at Bass Pro last week, had to ask as it is stored behind the gun case. Bought some .45acp also.

I am thinking about buying a squirt gun. But I have concerns Illinois will ban them too.

Just splurged on 22 ammo. I feel like a tourist who spent a small fortune on two seats to a Cubs game

Gunbroker dot com 1150 rounds of 40 grain at $115. There's shipping at $20 but I saved on some on tax. It's skunk weed ammo IMO.

My wife has gotten into shooting since I bought her a Ruger 22 and a SS Mosquito. The other guns I had were a bit too much for her.

Aim straight Jimmy

You can find stuff, just have to make it a whole job of hunting for it... you have to find out when shipments typically come in at various stores and hit them up just about everyday or so.. if you go on weekend they get cleaned out often... shipments are coming in but demand is still so high.. I try not to pay the ridiculous price on some of this stuff.. I did make a mistake one night and bought some premium 9mm +p ammo (which I couldn't use), but it worked out in my favor as I traded it for a much larger quantity of ammo.

I will definitely be avoiding it as my aversion to crowds seems to compound itself on a daily basis.

The new range does open up either this weekend or next.

Its going to be bad azz, 2 ranges, 50 and 75 yards, all high powered rifles allowe don the 75 yard range, which is rated up to a Barret .50 Caliber Rifle.

Don't think they will actually allow a Barret .50 caliber rifle on the new rifle range, but everything else will be fair game, and 3 times longer than Article IIs Rifle Range. I heard the rifle range fee will be around $30 which is not bad.

GATS is the best game in town by FAR, especially they haven't said jack chit to me about rapid fire there when every other range in town does not allow it.

I can't wait to check it out some time, I have yet to go there. I do like article II and will still be going there for the short range stuff, but I would like to find a place with a little more yardage..
