Default Driving your Vette in March Part XXXXIII

Just think I bought my C6 Z06 exactly 3 years ago tomorrow, March 6, 2010, and 3 year later we are getting rocked with the biggest March snow storm that we have seen in years!!!!!!!

This is one heck of a storm and this heart attack snow SUCKS!! I just did my driveway and walks and have to look for my aspirin now, and looks like there is a good 7 inches on the ground now in Elmhurst, and this snow is still going strong and we will probably get close to one foot of snow!!

Well the good news is that Spring is just 15 days away and its going to warm up into the 40s asap, so it won't be that long until we are driving our Vettes in March.

Hi Jimmy, Elmhurst snow at it finest. I just finished my driveway, sidewalk and two of my neighbors. Took me over 2 hours and it is still snowing.

I'm sure it will all melt and be gone Sunday since daylight savings time starts.

This guy likes all the snow.

As you know buddy, mine is dirty from use.

Yesterday, I drove from La Grange to Hoffman Estates, picked up a friend and on to Elgin, then to Lombard, back to Hoffman Estates and home. Today all the cars are parked, but I have a photo shoot near Midway at 4PM tomorrow, and my trusted 'vette will get me there and home. Thursday, it's on to South Bend for four days. I do get some odd looks from some other drivers, but it's a car.

Oh, and yesterday heading home on 290, I ran with another VR C6 'vert from where I got on at the Elgin-O'Hare/Irving Park on ramp until I exited to I294S.

Thanks Jimmy. Everybody makes their own choices, and I prefer using mine whenever I can.

Since Halloween, we've had very few days with any meaningful snow in our area, the salt has been minimal, and potholes are few and far between (well, depending on the graft of the community ).

See you on the 16th, I hope.

Hey Dan,

Hope your well buddy, good pictures (if you like snow). Yeah, we got rocked pretty good here (in Elmhurst) neighbor, I don't recall ever getting hit that hard in March the last 10 years. Heck, last year was down right bizarre when we had 14 straight days in the 70s. I have a husky mix and at least both our dogs loved this white crap!

Your snow blower looks identical to mine. I am not pleased the way the big snow machines work with the heavy "heart attack" snow, as my machine gets clogged up way easier than some of the smaller machines that don't have the huge front blades.

not that this has anything to do with this thread but Chicago should implement alternate side parking so the plows and clean up the mess on the side streets.

The good news is that all this crap will be melted in the next week with temps hitting into the 40s this weekend, and some, including myself, will be driving thier Vettes in March sooner than one would think after yetserday.

Winter's last gasp, SPRINGTIME is now just 14 days away!!

At least your car is stock, try going for an emissions test when you have something like my old 2002 elec. blue 850 HP, supercharged vette.

If you are not throwing codes, you should be fine.
