Default **DOUG RING (ECS) Coming to Chicagoland for Tuning Spring 2013**

Hey Guys great news, I spoke with Doug and he is planning on coming back out to Chicago (Straighline Performance)in the spring to tune! We need to get about 15 guys or more together so his trip out here will be worth it. He will be flying out and staying at a hotel and we all know this is not cheap!

For those of you who do not know Doug, He is co-owner of East Coast Supercharging and does all of their tuning. He has extensive knowledge on tuning LS motors and is 1 of the few in the country that can tune correctly with Meth. This is golden as there are no tuners in our area that specializes in meth tuning.

He is able to tune not only Corvettes, C5 and C6, but any LS series cars, also it does not matter weather you have an ECS, A&A, or Maggie style Supercharger. If you are looking for just N/A tune or just an upgrade from your stock tune he will be able to take care of that too.

So if you are thinking about getting boosted over the winter or already have a boosted car and looking for an awesome tuner, here is your ticket!

If you have any detailed questions feel free to post up or PM Doug and he can answer all your questions and discuss pricing for you. We will keep this thread updated and post up dates in Feb or early March.

Hope to meet and see a bunch of you guys in the spring!

Please send Doug a PM to be added to the list along with a list of your mods!!!

Doug will be here April 20th and 21st as long as there are enough cars!

Would you know if a tune on a bone stock LS7 requires a 160 degree thermostat upgrade?

Thanks

I'm almost positive that you won't need to change your T-stat, however if you do Doug is able to change your fan settings so they turn on sooner to help you run cooler! It' very cheap to change your T-stat.

I put a 160 T-stat in my car years ago on my first tune and noticed my car running cooler!Hope that helps but check with Doug to be 100% sure!

Bob,

I can also answer that question also and Blitzkriegs answer is good.

You CERTAINLY do not need to put a cooler thermostat in your C6 Z if you get it tuned, but most guys do it b/c the 160 stat (as you know) makes the car run a lot cooler and the tune allows the fans to come on earlier. Of course you could put in a 160 stat in your Z06 without a tune, and it will still run cooler, but not nearly as cool 100% of the time if you don't have the fans kick on sooner.

That being said, why do I know your NOT going to get your Z tuned?

Thanks for the input Gents. I only asked because some tuners demand the upgrade.

I am trying my best to see if Doug can come out a few days before the 1/2 mile airstrip racing in Monee June 1st and 2nd. It would be great to have him and the ECS team out here during this event and tuning a bunch of cars for the event!

Thanks Brian,
guys we will have a date set once it gets a little closer but I am hoping it will be around the time of the 1/2 mile air stripe run. (cause that sounds like fun!!)

Any questions feel free to ask here, or PM me. I will follow this thread from now until then.

Should be a few ECS cars running. My C6Z Straightline/ ECS N/A build should be there.

If you don't come for the 1/2 mile race, I'll still stop by and buy some burgers for a bbq. .

I would love a tune. He should coordinate his trip with the Chicago Half Mile event at the beginning of June. We will have hundreds of people and cars very close to straightline. May work out for you guys better.

I spoke with Doug about setting the date for his visit for June 1-2 weekend, and maybe come out on Thursday to tune a few days before the event! He said he was going to do his best to keep that weekend open!

It would be great to have several guys get there cars ready for the 1/2 mile. I know I'm looking forward to it!

As long as our race schedule permits I'll do my best to make it during that time frame. I will post back up when the time gets closer.

Thanks guys!

Nope, you're not having any work done, can't have the ZR1 be faster than me!! I'm going to have to talk to your wife so she puts a stop to any modding, I've got my speech ready to go!

I also here that sunday is the day when the cool kids are racing .
