Yes, very much so...just minding one's own business and WHAM.
Hope the cyclist wasn't severely injured, he was wearing some safety gear which was a plus.
Very avoidable crash, of course. Loss of attention + entry speed too high for that bike's ground clearance. Then, panic'd after he scraped, he stood the bike up and tried to brake to a stop versus trying to turn it again. Bang. It very much appears he could have turned the bike short of the Corvette had he tried. Easy to forget to do that when in panic mode.

I've been to Deal's Gap a number of times with either my motorcycle or Vette. The photographers set up in the corner with big banners announcing their presence. Accidents and run-offs are common in those areas because the driver/rider is distracted by the photographer.
On of the first things you learn about riding a motorcycle is that is goes where you're looking. If the road is turning to the right (as in these pictures) but you're looking at the photographer on the left, you'll "turn"/drift to the left. His panic and braking caused the bike to stand up. It's counterintuitive to release the brake, increase throttle and lean.
I hope the rider is okay. Because this pic made me chuckle a little. It looks photoshopped...

Tough break for the Vette owner. Sure must have ruined his day. Glad he and the biker are both OK though.

Wow that has to hurt both of them... No matter who's fault, it was an accident, they happen were all human. Feel bad for both of them, glad they are ok though, other then the damages.

318 turns in 11 miles. Semi Trucks should steer clear of that road!!

Plain and simple ... bike rider's fault. The bike goes where you look...he was too busy haming it up for the camera. He's lucky to be alive.
