Black Hills Trip Pics
I am changing jobs and took two weeks off in between. I have always wanted to take the Vette out to the Black Hills, so I decided this was the perfect opportunity. I left from my parent's house near Lake Geneva on Monday morning and stopped for the night in Mitchell, SD, the home of the worlds only Corn Palace. On Tuesday morning, I went through the Badlands, out to Devils Tower and spent the night in Deadwood. On Wednesday, I went to Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park and the Needles Highway. I stayed in Deadwood again and started heading home on Thursday morning. I spend Thursday night in La Crosse, WI and got home this afternoon.
The trip was awesome and the roads were absolutely amazing. I saw a lot of Vettes along the way and at the various stops. The trip was a total of 2221 miles. Going out with a strong headwind, I averaged only 26 MPG, but coming back with a strong tailwind, I averaged 29 MPG.

Cool pics Frank and some nice scenery. Looks like a great trip and one I hope to take someday. I'm going to try and make it to the lunch tomorrow. Have a safe trip back.

Great pics you took. My wife and I were planning on taking a similar trip to that area several years ago but ended up cancelling it at the last minute. Still on our list of places to visit.
