I see "Charlestown Mall" on the map on rt64. Is that just the strip mall with the Walmart or something better?
Anything west of the show?
The Mall is just about folded up, only 2 "anchor" stores left and a small handfull of others. Your wife might enjoy shopping on 3rd street in Geneva a lot more. Downtown St. Charles is mostly bars, but construction has made it almost unbearable to get there from the event.

Is there a special way for the Corvettes to enter and park? I have not been there before and the map shows Corvette parking right on the golf course.... It is supposed to be an awesome day too...can't wait.

Any advice on what to bring for a first timer???
Dont take North Ave!!!!!!!

Go west on Rt 38 AKA Roosevelt road and go north on Kautz which will bring you right to the west side entrance off the show.

NORTH AVE is under construction!!!!!

Feel like a grounded kid locked up inside since I am restricted to crutches and the show is in my backyard.
Hope you all have a great time!
They weather is perfect and not a Chicago scorcher for a change.

Great recommendation for the wife and great area to spend an afternoon.
A lot of stores, restaurants, bars and swedish days festival.

Wouldn't even waste time on Charles Town Mall unless going to the movies, that is all they have to offer these days.

Avoid north ave at all costs, major cluster:/-)

The show was ok, this was my 3rd year and even fewer vendors than last last year.

Chris, congratulations on the Certification today! It is nice to have your years of work recognized.

Now, get to work on your next '54 and your Dad's '57.

Kevin, I avoided North Ave. by trailing out Roosevelt Rd. then heading north on Kautz Rd. Coming from the north, a different choice is required.

I was there for about three hours today, mostly interested in seeing how my friend's newly completed '54 did in the certification process (made it. ). I'll be back tomorrow with my son and spend more time poking around the other areas.

I forget what it's called but that separate building had some really awesome race cars. I wish I could get in there with no one else and able to take pictures.

Kev, that's the Great Hall. I popped a few.

The 1960 CERV I

The 1961 Mako Shark.

And the 1959 Stingray Racer, the genesis of the '63 model.

I also enjoyed the 1967 427 coupe with only 2,996 miles. Stunning.

And two pix of Chris Sherman's '54.

I'm was planning on both Friday and Saturday as I normally do, but I had to attend a last minute meeting in Toronto. So I'll only be there tomorrow. Should be there by 9:00-9:30.

hope to see all my buds!

Had a blast with a buddy at the show today and my dogs were barking. My buddy almost bought a red 93 c4 for under $10g's but couldn't pull the trigger. It was such an awesome feeling to drive down the fairway and park the CARRVTE on the golf course. Great event, planning, layout, vendors, food, etc... What a great event. I have never seen so many Corvettes in one place.

My favorite car of the day was a CALLOWAY Centenial Convertible. Stickerd at $99K. Right next it was black CALLOWAY Camero. It has a see through bullet proof glass to cover/show the blower. It listed at over $100K but the dealer said they would listen to offers in the $85k range....haaaaaaaaaa I would too.

Awesome day though, for sure. Sorry I didn't take more pics, kind of overwhelmed.
Here are just a few pics from today... Check out the flames on the custom red hood next where I parked.

Default Mecum Auction

Anybody get any news on what happened to the Auction? It looks like only about 150 cars showed up, which is way less than the 500 Mecum was advertising.
