Johnny....I know the area well. There are some back roads from the North to avoid Rt 64 all together. I will draw a map and post it.

We can meet like Quicksilver said off Rt 53 and I know a way off Army Trail Road that avoids Rt 64 and dumps right at the McDonalds on the west end of the property.

im probably going on Friday, dont want to deal with the crowds on Saturday. The show isint worth going to for more than a few hours anyway.

There sure seem to be a lot of "there's still room" emails...seminars, rooms at Pheasant Run, etc. etc. this year. I think I've gotten one a week for the last month, some being repeats. Makes me wonder. Maybe if the seminars were less than a hundred bucks and the rooms two hundred bucks they'd have a few more takers!

Thanks Bob,,my favorite part, took my ex with me once, scared the heck out of her, she said "DONT EVER TAKE ME ON THIS RIDE AGAIN!", I said "ok dear, I guess I'll just have to go by myself",ha-ha

I usually go in the middle of the day on Friday to avoid the crowds and traffic. I'll probably do the same this year.

Bloomington Gold is monitoring the construction and in contact with Pheasant Run and St Charles on construction schedules.
I did not see downtown road construction on North Ave, but I think the previous post is correct that there is a lot going on downtown.

Traveling in from the east (say from 355) is not too bad. I went through it two days ago. It is narrowed to two lanes between Powis and the bridge (east of Ph Run).
It slows down but it was quite clean. They are working on areas adjacent to the road, not the road itself.
AND they stop working about 3pm and do not work on Sat or Sun !!

If you are concerned about dirt / dust from road, then take one of the suggested alternates mentioned above. Like coming across 38 to Kautz right up to Ph Run west side entrances.
