Is anyone else doing the SE Ohio cruise starting in Zanesville on 10/13?

My daughter and I are driving from Easton to Zanesville Friday (10/12) evening around 4PM (flexible) if anyone wants to caravan. I just booked my room online last week without any problem.

Entrance for this show is Gate 13 off Riverside Drive on the east side of the road. Its located just north of the E. Glick and Riverside Drive intersection which is currently under construction and will probably cause a bottle neck. There will be a State Highway Patrol Officer at the gate to make it easier to find.

Last year with good weather, 525 cars came and a line started at 7:30 for the 8am opening. Those driving a 63-76 ( stingrays ) corvettes will get VIP parking and a limited number of CF members driving other model years will get to park under a shelter near the stingrays. How we ID CF members is still being discussed, although I do have a list of names. There is still room.

Right now its just telling anyone who asks or directs that you are parking in the CF shelter unless you are driving a "stingray". I hope to have the corvetteforum.con banner hanging from the shelter. And yes, check out the Zoo, its one of the best in the country. I have been told its difficult to leave before the 3pm show's end and it may take some time getting out if the turnout is huge.

If you are driving a stingray or a CF member driving any model year corvette and you wish to join us, you must use Gate 13 off Riverside Drive. Do not use the Powell Rd gate. Looks like there will be plenty of spots for us, just tell them you are a member of the Corvette Forum.

Tickets are a problem with no real solution. After you park your car, you will have to register the car by filling out the card you place on your window/dash for judging. Its there you will get your tickets to the Zoo. So, if you have others coming but not in your car, you will have to take the tickets to the entrance of the Zoo. The other car will use the normal entrance off Powel Rd. Its a hassel and they are aware of it.

Would people be interested in having a meet at Cedar Point once the weather breaks? In another car club I was in before we used to have an annual get together at Cedar Point. The hotels in the area are sometimes willing to do one group rate for those who have to travel. We could do it when the weather breaks and starts to get nice out, or wait till the fall when they start their HalloWeekends.

Another option would be having an event at Norwalk Raceway. They will rent the track out, and if we have several members go in together on it we could have the track to ourselves for a decent price to get as many runs in as you could possibly want.
