Default Another reason to stay out of the dump known as Chicago.

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/p...,1450222.story

Gov. Pat Quinn signed a measure into law today that allows Mayor Rahm Emanuel to start using red light cameras to fine speeding drivers as much as $100 for violations.

"I think that you've got to understand that if you save even one life, you are saving the whole world," Quinn said at a morning event at a Chicago school. "I mean, what do you say to a parent that's been there from the day their son or daughter was born, and they're killed by a speeding motorist next to their school, or their park?"

"I think our job is to rise to the occasion and do what's necessary to protect our kids," Quinn said.

They should also make it finable for stupid high school kids like the ones that go to Lane Tech to just walk into the street and expect the cars to stop for them.

I went to Lane Tech EONS ago but even then some of the guys thought they had the right of way over cars on Western Ave or Addison. I do beleive that we were a little smarter then because we wouldn't just dart out into traffic to see if we could get run over by a 62 Duece and a quarter, nowadays those students just do it just to see if they can cause an accident or scare the S--T out of you or some little old lady.

Nothing would make me happier then to stay outside of the “dump” but I just got a summons for stand-by jury duty at 26 & California! If you never hear from me again you’ll know things didn’t go well.

Maybe I can get a speed camera ticket and “save the world” before I get made a “victim”…

Am trying to convince the GF to move out of state, someplace warm like Arizona where a Corvette can be driven year 'round. Illinois is just full of stupid.

I went to Lane Tech as well back in the day and you didn't see crazy stunts like that. There were other ones but not runnning into traffic. I think it would be fair to say that the demographics of the scholl has changed quite a bit since the 60's.

"I think that you've got to understand that if you save even one life, you are saving the whole world,"

According to the above quote the man doesn't know the difference between one person and the entire world. and this guy got elected by the people. Just proves like I learned in college psy class "the majority of the people are stupid".

I have to drive in Chicago almost every day. Sometimes the stupidity and rudness of the city workers is just amazing. Not everyone but a large majority of them have no idea what a kind word is. The traffic management people are more like traffic cones, I could direct traffic better.

I have a monthly parking permit in one of our offices and was surprised that the city revenue service comes in to check where your vehicle is registered. If you are registered in the city and don't have a city sticker it's a $200.oo ticket.

The police tow trucks are constantly busy, I think the average fine for being towed to the local auto pound is somewheres around $400.00 for one day. I wonder how many tows are legal.

That's enough ranting.....sorry.

Chicago's city clerk on Tuesday said she would mull over what to do about the upcoming vehicle sticker design that purportedly contains symbolism tied to the Maniac Latin Disciples.

http://www.nbcchicago.com/blogs/ward...138898149.html

The upcoming design is the first sticker approved by Mayor Rahm Emanuel's administration.
