It only "burns-out" if you plug it in backwards.

They cost around 45K but US taxpayers give you a 7.5K discount coupon to help out with the price.

I heard you can't pay cash for them, they have to be charged.

For that price I would buy a cruz and spend the other 30k for the gas over the next 10 years.

For that kind of money I would buy a used z06 and burn rubber and gas like there is no tomorrow

I have a 2011 Cruze RS and I'm not sure I'd recommend one to someone else. The car is very under powered and the automatic transmission really sucks. It seems like the transmission is always searching for the right gear, which is even worse with the air conditioning on. I have a friend who has the Eco and it doesn't have enough power to get out of it's own way. If I decide to get another "fuel efficient" car, it'll be a new Ford Focus.

That is a shame, those cars look nice.

I also like the Malibu but really wish GM would start offering more AWD models over this FWD junk.

I have the LTZ model with 18" wheels, which looks great. I did quite a bit of research on the Cruze before I ordered mine, which was another nightmare. For a car that has been in production in Europe for several years, you'd think GM would have all of the bugs worked out.

I agree, Johnny.

I drove a Volt in June. Very impressed with the torque (due to electric power) and the quietness of the cabin. I rode in one at the Auto Show in February. Could hardly wait to finally drive one.

If you drive less than 50 miles a day, you can conceivably never have to put gasoline in the tank. About $1.50 a day to recharge. Not too shabby.

I'm all for development of electric cars, and love the Volt. One question: how does the heat and A/C work while on electric power? Does it shut off when you come to a stop?......courious
