Default I put up my car for sale today...

Honestly, I am just not into my car anymore. I don't drive it much anymore, and really want to move onto something different. I'm not sure how quick it would sell (if at all), but it's officially on the market.

I shopped mine around. For what I was willing to take for it, it was not much better than trading it in and saving some dough on taxes. Good luck this time of year

ahhh come on.. you are a smart guy I would not worry.. I still am not really buying into it. More than half are tracked and modded/tuned. There is no doubt something happening, but I think it's still such a small % of owners when you look at the over all numbers produced vs. failures.

I find it interesting that you RARELY see an LS7 built buy Katech, ECS, Ligenfleter or LG that fails...it's always some other "shop" that did the work etc.. or the poster does not want to divulge who did the work etc..

I actually have a guy coming in next week to look at the car and drive it home if he likes it. It just felt like the right thing to do now. I honestly look at the car in the garage and go... "eh". I'm not sure what will be next. I kinda want an old car again... Maybe I'll start collecting parts and build a street rod. I've always wanted to do that. I grew up around street rods, and a project now might be fun to do with my father. Who knows...

Good luck, Rob. Mine will probably be on the market sometime in the spring. I'm thinking of a C6Z...with some boost of course.

Good luck with the sale. I have been considering selling mine as well. I love all sorts of cars and may want to try something else. I may wait until spring unless the right wad of cash is waved in front of me!

Car was done by Speed 2 years ago, cammed and tuned. Not one single issue so far. Barely burns any oil, but I definately maintain it, but hearing all the negetive stuff going on makes mw wonder. I'm definately going with Redline oil in the spring for some added lube lol

you could also have the head pulled and have the valves examined. Most of the failures seem to hover around the exauhst valves being out of tolerance.

I have thought about selling in the past but not for another car but to help buy land where I could later get a small to medium modular home built away where the family could relax and just enjoy things.

Rob,

Surprised to hear that your want to get out of the vette scene but you know how I feel about being a Vette Purist (not).

TUFF time to sell now in this market and winter season, but put her on Craiglists bro as that is where I sold my Monster 71 Camaro and my old E Blue Blown Z, and that is where PFrank sold his old red C5Z.

If and when she sells I know your a car nut and will be back into something very cool. You know I LOVE the old muscle cars and your street rod idea is cool. Better yet would be a kick azz resto mod like a bad *** FAST 69 Camaro, 70 Mustang, 71 Challenger, 69 GTO, whatever your into, I know you like first Gen Camaros, with all the modern components in it (that would be extremely sweet and is the modern trend-Resto Mods).

Out of my 3 pride and joy cars if I had to get rid of one of them, it would be the Vette, as my old school 1969 Plymouth is my favorite and I love my 2008 Challenger, SRT8, especially as an everyday driver (Blizzak snow tires are on order).

I LOVE my Z, don't get me wrong, but would replace it with a 600HP 2008+ Viper in a New York Heartbeat, and plan on doing so, in a few years.

Good luck buddy and when she sells we will stay in touch, unless you get a Honda Prius!

I can't begin to tell you the number of times I've thought about selling mine over the years. I get tired of cleaning and waxing it, and worrying about damaging it when I drive it. In the 12 years I've owned it, I've put about 11,000 miles on the odometer. I've been a gearhead since I was a kid and know I'd miss it if I sold it. There's just something about having a beautiful car in my garage that I can drive on a perfect summer or fall day.

Looks like the car is sold already. A guy gave me a deposit already, and is coming in next week to look at it and most likely take it home. I guess the planets were aligned on this one... I'm not sure what I'll do next. Something will come up.... Hmmmm

I just saw this thread as I don't come on here as much as I used to. Glad you were able to sell your car pretty easily Rob.

I am thinking about trading mine on a new Boss 302, but all of the dealers I've contacted are trying to get way over sticker and that's not even with the Laguna Seca package. They are only making like 3500, so there are only a handful of them around the area. I will keep looking over the winter. I would just trade my Vette in and not deal with the hassle of selling it myself.

Thanks Frank. I'm not sure what I want to buy, and honestly had no idea my car would go so quickly. I am just going to put the money in the bank for the winter and see what happens in the spring. Part of me wants a project car, and I also really like the new Harley V rod muscle. I bet I have one of those in the garage next spring. Hey... my facebook crashed a few days ago and almost all of my friends were deleted. Don't think that I deleted you or anything. haha
