Corvette Season is back in Chicago-HOW SWEET IT IS!!!!!!!!!!
Yes ladies and gentleman, today friday, 3-11-11, in the greater Chicago area its 46 degrees and sunny, and the roads are pretty much salt free!!!!!!!
That means its CORVETTE time again in Chi-Town (and most other surrounding states)! You really know spring is JUST about here when you SPING ahead/forward with your clocks and watches this Saturday night (and first day of Spring is March 20th on the calendar)!
Felt GREAT to get my C6 Z06 out today running errands this morning and rowing through the gears, and listening to the sweet sound of my Z's new Bullet Exhaust. Bullet Exhaust interior Drone, what drone, interior noise seems normal (stock) to a gear head like me!
What a great change of pace going to my daily driver American Modern Muscle Car-Dodge Challenger SRT8, to one of the ultimate American Sportcars, THE CORVETTE!
Driving the Challenger year round REALLY helps me deal with winter 10000% easier, but nothing like being back in a true 2 seater Super Car!
Yes ladies and gentleman, for the hardcore enthusiast, CAR SEASON IS ESSENTIALLY HERE (trickle charge is off and Corvette is official out).
Now if only my engine builder would get his azz in gear and finish the 505ci Mopar stroker engine for my 1969 Road Runner!

Damn it, we are probably a week away yet as there is still a lot of snow on the ground and salt on the roads But I did change the oil on the vette today and started it up For some reason the LS7 sounds much better than the Kia

I took mine to work today. It felt good as well to get it out. I stomped on the new GS brakes for the first time too. Definitely stop better than the old stockers! Hopefully my meth kit will be at my door when I get home so I can install that tomorrow too!

After seeing your post I ran out to the garage uncovered the Vett and BAM just touched the key and it fired right up. Brand new engine Libertville Chev. droped the car off in December no miles on it yet.

Took my car out last night,, wow, feels like brand new again. I forgot how tight and stiff the car is..and almost put myself through the windsheild once hitting the brakes to hard , used to driving my alero
Did not really stomp on it yet as I want to get some fresh gas in her, and also could not get the oil temp above about 140 in this nice cool March air.
Spring is on its way!! Will be driving mine the rest of this weekend as well.
Its kinda funny we all decided to pull our cars out the same day

Safety Car
I also drove my Z yesterday, put about 20-25 miles on it, driving to my attorney's office and back, would have cruised around more but my brother in law needed me to run him to Home Depot with the Hummer to pick up some cement board for a tile job he is doing at my sister in laws. It definately felt good to drive the car for the first time since November
Rob..... not sure if you did it or not but you really should bed those new brakes in properly.

I actually went in one of the garages one of the Corvette's is in yesterday. Oh and I read the latest Corvette Market Report that landed in the mail yesterday.
I actually picked up a lifted Jeep. I am going off roading with a few other trucks today.

Its vette driving weather in Chicago land all weekend ladies and gents, and well into next week also (with April now just around the corner)!
Ruenvs,
Thats funny, the exact emissions place I took my Z to right after the new year when it warmed up, and rained a ton (washing away the salt), and off to the Addision Emissions I went to I believe on Jan. 2, 2011, last time my Z was out b/f this weekend.
Nice to have a mostly stock, warrantied, Super Car, that can pass emissions without you worrying about it, unlike my last few vettes!
