I'm the novice (D) group leader... We have a lot of Corvette guys who attend the event! We're very fortunate to have an awesome group of instructors - most of them also instruct with NASA and/or BMWCCA. I believe we're the first event of the season at Road America, so it's a great opportunity for those of you who have been itching to get your car back on the track
Here are some photos (taken by Brookstone Studios) from last April's event: http://www.flickr.com/photos/nkysely...7623877372226/
Hope to see you in April

Just wanted to drop in for a quick update... The event is just 3 short months away and registration is starting to pick up in all run groups. We are indeed the first HPDE to run this spring at Road America - great way to start the season after the wonderful winter we've had (still waiting to get my street plowed)

This is an INCREDIBLE EVENT I went 6 years ago in my old C5 Z in my sig. (before it was blown), and it was one experience I will never forget in my life, what a wild and crazy AWESOME EVENT!
Anyone who has been wanting to go to Road America, this is your chance to experience the best road race track in the U.S., and you have to do it if you been wanting to go as life is too short, and there area only a handful of these type of events to experience Road America.

I've gone the last 2 years, it is a blast. Are you going Jim? It would be nice to see some of the crew up there. There's plenty of neat cars at the event. The only problem is the wait between runs. That's not even bad.

Wax on, wax off, wax on, wax off.
I have never waxed any of my cars, no time, but do hire my local competitively priced detailer to throw on a coat of wax on them all once a year.
Ok, let's get back on track (pun intended); guys this is really a great event that you should experience at least once in your life, if you have had the desire to take your vette road racing (at your own comfort level), on what no doubt is one of the top road race tracks in the country. I can tell you this is the most fun you can have in your vette with your pants on.
The front straight away is one mile long and that first turn comes up quickly! Tracking your vette on the rest of this 4+ mile track through some real cool WI woodsy scenery is like you died and went to corvette heaven.
Come on Bob (Quicksilver) its time to get Plain Jane past 5000 rpms.

Thanks for the positive feedback guys
This was actually the first HPDE I ever ran (not counting a Barber event) back in October 2006... I've come a long way over the years thanks to the awesome group of instructors we're fortunate enough to have. MFBA is a not for profit organization - everybody who helps run the event is a voulnteer. We've been running up at Road America for more consecutive years than just about any other group. While the event started out as a F-body event, as you can see by the link I posted earlier, we have a really wide variety of makes/models in attendance... Everybody is welcome! If you're a novice, you're guaranateed an istructor. Anybody else who is new to Road America and would like one for a session can also ask for one (in advance please). As others have said, it's a fantastic track and this is a great way to learn it.
If you've got cabin fever, this would be a great way to deal with it

Does anybody have a good recommendation as far as a chasis and tire setup for a C6, pfadt suspesion, slicks. I am wondering about how much negative camber on a course with straights this long. I am assuming good brakes and cooling are a must.
Is down force a help of not necessary on this track?
Thanks for any help can give a newboobie that can't wait to run this track.
