Default 10 Years ago today...

Is when I stumbled up on Corvette Forum during a web search on "C5 Corvette" after walking out of the dealership and putting my name on a waiting list for a Millenium Yellow C5 Coupe. Then the hard part. Waiting for a build date. 17 months later, Oct 9th, 2001, is when I got the call that my car was in production and brought her home Oct 15th. But the wait was well worth it for my first Corvette. During the 17 month wait, it allowed me to do my research for mods on the forum. I bought my Corsa Indy exhaust, Vortex intake, Long tube headers, and other minor modifications.

It's hard to believe it's been 10 years. But this site has been a wealth of information, and I've learned a lot. I've also met some great people who share my passion for this hobby. One person that will always stand out who kind of took me "under his wing" was Ken King. (RIP) He tought me all there is to know about keeping the Vette clean. He encouraged me to enter my car in some local shows. And with his guidance, I walked away with a couple trophies. When it came to dirt / dust on the car, his motto was "If you can see it, they can see it".

10 years are in the books. Looking forward to more good times and good people!

Indeed it is a great place to hang out and meet local vette fanatics.
Actually bought mine from a forum member down in Richmond Virginia.
Not quite 10 for me but time does pass quickly.... enjoy the ride

I'm about 2 months behind you Zack. I can't recall how I found this place, but I had bought my car about a year earlier, so I imagine the mod bug had bit by then!

WOW! You waited 17 months for the car
I would not have the patience...
While I have had Vettes for 20 yrs I only found this place 5 yrs ago when I got my C5 Met lots of cool people and find out lots of cool things
If this weather is an indicator we should have a great season coming up

yes ma'am. I wanted Millenium Yellow with an Oak Interior. Nobody had it in stock. And no dealer other than Cauley Chevrolet, would order it for me in that combination, and offer me GM Employee Discount on top of that.

Zack,

I've only known you a year, but your warm welcome to my first MCV meeting meant a lot. Didn't know anybody there and was still a noob when it came to Vettes. You made me feel part of the group and after introductions I realized they were a lot like me (except they weren't noobs). You truely are deserving of the title of "Ringleader". Thanks,

BV

Wow, 10 Quick years! Congratulations & you're doing a great job as Ring leader. Keep up the good work. Took my car out of "moth *****" today. Was great getting on the road and trying out the new winter mods.

Just a little over 10 years for me too, and I had the same question Deb had about the 17 month wait. I bought mine through Karl Johanson who was (at the time) THE internet Corvette dealer - and I got my car within weeks...ordered mid-Feb, date of birth April 17 - took delivery at the Museum in May of 2000. BUT, I doubt that he would have honored the GM discount as discounts were hard to come by any means back then. And now I have my new Grand Sport!

Congrats! It's been a great ride!

Congrats Zack!

I jumped on this forum after a few days of buying my Vette and I've met some great people that love the Vette. There is a wealth of information on this forum, and the people that make up the MCV's are a great group of people! I love going to the events!

You're a fantastic ring leader!

P.S. The move date is 17-Apr. The Vette comes out of storage that night! I will spend the evening prepping her for the event on the 21st! She's coming out of storage late this year, but it will be good to smack her bow with a bottle of champaign and welcome her to another year (ok... I'll just drink the champaign while I am cleaning her off).

A couple of years ago I ran into this forum, not really sure how I did it. After I bought my first C6 coupe. Ever since it's been my main website I lurk on. Plus having met the MCV group, it's nice to finally be around people that love the same car I do. Great people and a cool old ring leader (jk)

Congrats Zack on entering the ''10 year club'. It goes by so fast...makes you want to get out and drive it every day. Savewave and I worked together on the 10 year milestone idea...I made sure it was done right, and he took it to the committees for getting it through....
