Coolness- No Front Plate on An Ohio Corvette (Legally)
Got a letter yesterday from the NCM re: the Historic Motorama.
Mixed in with the other information is a note that all Primary and Alternate participants (I'm the 1997 Alternate) will be issued special unique Kentucky plates for the events. They'll be good from the start of the events through July 26, 2002...
A whole month of No Front Plate!

If your car is registered in Ohio, how can you legally use KY plates?
Bloomington Gold offers plates, but the only ones that can use them on their Vettes are IL residents because they are IL plates.

...and it is illegal for Bloomington Gold because Illinois says it is.

 I guess Ohio has nothing to say?
Besides, my temporary residence (for the better part of a week) is 350 Corvette Drive, Bowling Green, KY 42101 :D
P.S. Apparently you guys will argue about anything

The "arguements" were about what power the states of
1. Illinois
and
2. Ohio
have over something the Commonwealth of Kentucky is nice enough to do for the NCM's Historic Motorama.
The answer: None!.
That's why there are lines on the maps... :D
Feel free to get the last word, Bubblehead... I'm done with this thread.

I think the question would be: Where are these tags to be used? If exclusively in Kentucky, no problem. KY can do what they want in KY.
If a vehicle is registered in Ohio, it can't be driven on the streets or highways of Ohio displaying the tags from another jurisdiction. But in the real world I doubt you would have any problem in Ohio unless you drive through New Rome.

Hey Timmy, how much are these Bloomington Gold plates and where do ya get em? At the show I am assuming?

To get the plates, you have to register to attend Bloomington Gold. On the registration form, you can check the box for the plates and they will mail them to you somewhere around April.
http://www.bloomingtongold.com/ Looks like the site is nearly dead. There really isn't any info other then reservations for hotels. There is a number you can call and I'm sure they can help you out.

Do they look cool? I may want to get one if they arent too pricey!!
What do ya think about getting the local boys around here together to head up to the BG show. I happen to be off that entire weekend and I should have my Z by then. I would like to get us maybe in the road rallye?? What do ya think?

They are pretty cool, but I don't know what the design will be. But, since I have my Veteran plates, I doubt I'll be getting the Bloomington Gold ones this year.
I'm sure we can get a group together. Saturday is when the "road tour" is and is the really cool party of the whole weekend.
