This has been one of the best events of last couple years, so we are going to continue it again this year.

This basically the same agenda as the last two years.

This leg should take about an hour.
Meet up Location #2
Meeting Time: 10:45 AM
Departure Time: 11:00 AM
Meeting Location: The Rafters Restaurant - Lena, IL http://www.raftersonline.com/index.shtml (The restaurant doesn't open until 11:00. We will not be eating here, just using their parking lot)
From here we will drive the Stagecoach Trail to Galena. This should be the fun part. It should take us around an hour for the cruise, but we could take longer if people want to stop along the way.
Route: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sadd...1&ie=UTF8&z=11
Upon arrival in Galena, we will be going for lunch. I will talk to Dennis (C5 Bears Fan) to see if he can get us a hook up with the same restaurant as the last two years. http://www.friedgreen.com/
After lunch, we can go somewhere for a beer, stroll around Galena or anything else anybody wants to do.
After that, you can spend the night in Galena, go to the Casino in Dubuque, caravan back to Chicago on Rt. 20 or drive back home on your own.

I'm looking forward to this cruise, I missed last year because I was unemployed and couldn't afford the tank of $5 a gallon gas!
Will you be singing again this year Frank, perhaps something from the Tony Bennett or Dean Martin songbook?

Too bad this is funfest week-end, or there may have been more going your way.
We try to cruise up that way right around the 1st of Oct. and I'm sure if we weren't headed to Effingham, I could have had at least 3 more coming to join you.
Have a great time, it is a great time of year to see the Galena Territories.

I don't think we will loose too many people to Funfest. This is a lot more fun.
I think a few of us are staying over night at Eagle Ridge.

Hey Frank
I think I am in for this. I will have to see when we get closer.
I can set up reservations at FG no problem.
or
a suggestion
if you guys want something a little different I can suggest a little different route this year and end up in Potosi Wisconsin. This is the home of the Potosi Brewery and national beer museum. It has plenty of parking and some great sandwhiches and food. The cruising area is awesome as well. We could make a stop in Galena on the way to or way back. This would ad a little more time to the day but would be a nice ride for everyone.

here is a pic form the convention center next door.
doesnt matter to me, but if everyone wants a little extra this year i can direct you to this place. The Midwest Corvette Club was there last weekend
I will keep up with this thread and my schedule as to what i am up to. I was thinking about funfest but not sure. I dont know whats going on next weekend yet let alone this one
If anyone has any thoughts on a a extended version of this cruise this year let me know
looking forward to seeing everyone again
