Breaking News: Government Halts Barrett-Jackson Sale of GM Cars
West Palm Beach, Florida: Midway through Friday's collector car sale, representatives of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) forced Barrett-Jackson to stop the sale of certain cars from the GM Heritage Fleet. Our sources tell us that this order from NHTSA was completely unexpected; Barrett-Jackson and GM have been extremely careful to note, in written material posted on the cars, which GM cars are sold on "salvage titles" or similar, and cannot be registered. Apparently, despite this, NHTSA is concerned that someone "might try" to register the cars for the street.
GM and Barrett-Jackson are attempting to resolve this so that the cars, which have been heavily publicized and have drawn bidders from across the nation, can be sold. Unfortunately, discussions are hampered by the fact that the relevant NHTSA offices are closed for the day, and reportedly will be closed tomorrow as well.

I love how everyone is blaming our current president, who has been in office for approximately 3 months, for everything negative that's occurring in this country. Granted, it took the previous president (who had the lowest public rating of any president in our history) 8 years to nearly destroy this country. I don't know much about abdominal surgery, but I do know that we should have opted for a$$hole removal about 4 years ago.
I wouldnt necessarily blame the president himself, but I think people have the taken the whole "change" thing too far. I feel that Bush more right wing than a lot of people would prefer and maybe Obama is far left. Not to get into politics but maybe this has caused certain organizations to be more restrictive on things like this.
Nevertheless I dont understand why they cant sell the cars. So what if they have a salvage title, if these cars are not street legal then have the BMV not allow them to be registered, its not that hard.

The "change" thing has gone too far because Americans are sick and tired of the same old rhetoric, year-after-year.
There's no doubt in my mind that had John McCain been elected president, the above mentioned fiasco at Barrett-Jackson would have been avoided. I'm not sure how it was accomplished, but it appears that another political travesty on the part of our socialist government has been avoided.
I also believe that John McCain's administration would have located and killed Bin Laden by now, and there would be peaceful, democratic forms of government in Iraq and Afghanistan. In addition, the financial and housing crisis would be over, we would have national health care, there would be ample funds for the education of our children, and unemployment would be hovering at 1%.

This is a debate that is going to last forever, but what most people don't know is that Clinton is the idiot you passed legislation to loosen lending practices for under qualified home buyers, which, in my opinion is the real blame for this whole flipping mess. He also changed the "mark to market" valuation for how businesses report assets. This should have been recognized by Bush, but he isn't entirely to blame. I think he focused to much on national security after 911 and not enough on the economy.

I've been voting for 40 years and nearly every presidential election has focused in part on such issues as health care, education, taxes, etc. It appears to me that neither party has done much to remedy any of these issues. Admittedly, I've never voted for a Democratic presidential candidate until this past election. I fully realize that many of our problems started before George W. took office, but I get sick and tired of hearing people complain about President Obama, who inherited a "train wreck" and has been in office for less than 3 months. If people want to complain at the end of his first term and his track record is poor, have at it.
It's too early to tell, but he sure has some very socialist ideals that he is pressing right out of the gate. Now, I hear he is talking about making all illegals citizens???? He does have to stabilize the middle class, and I'm hoping like heck he gets things turned around, but I fear the cost's are going to be hard to deal with for the self-employed and small business owners of this country.

I don't know if you've had the opportunity to see the news, but the socialists who want to "feel powerful" have freed the captain that was being held hostage and killed 3 of the 4 hijackers. I know. I know. Had John McCain been president, they would have killed all the pirates.
