There was a recent thread about it, it sounds like it's no more...

There was no plan to have a spring vett fest. I have heard from a good source there will be a fall event. There is also talk of a new musclecar show coming to the midwest. Here is the other link: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/grea...est-nixed.html
I was at a ncrs meeting yesterday (sunday) and was told that there will be a fall show but it going to be ford, mopar, and chevy and corvette show sometime around thanksgiving.

Thanks for the post, Joe.
First off, please let it be known that this show is NOT the Chevy Vettefest and is NOT affiliated with Championship Auto Shows, Inc. in any way. I would recommend contacting them for any updates regarding the future of the Chevy Vettefest.
Details are being finalized for a new show, but I am here to say the Nickey Chicago Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals, presented by Bill Stasek Chevrolet is a GO. www.mcacn.com
Dates are November 21-22, 2009 and it will be held at the familiar Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL.
Vicki and I will be attending the Bill Jacobs show April 19, and we hope to see many of you there.
More to follow real soon!

Managing Partner
In our Vette club a couple of members supposedly had the inside scoop and they were told that Championship Car Shows fired the original owner of ChevyFest, but would not allow him to retain the name and show rights. There is no Chevy Vettefest now...who knows in the future. All shows have been canceled. Notice the web site you can't even access any of the infor buttons, just past show info. With this I am told that the original owner has secured dates to now host an open show with all makes around the same time of year. My question will be one of how he will fit all of these cars unless the Stephans Convention Center gives him a much bigger auditorium. As it was the last couple of shows fully sold out with just Chevy product.
I must admit I will miss Checy Vettefest as I looked forward to going at a time of year when nothing much was going on.
I'm not sure if there will be a Vettefest anymore. It was run by Championship Auto Shows (World of Wheels) and there is nothing on their website to indicate something is in the works.
Bob Ashton who used to manage Vettefest is now promoting a new muscle car and Corvette show. You can get more info on it here:

I would recommend contacting Championship Auto Shows, Inc. for any information pertaining to the future of the CVF show.
There will not be a CVF show at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Roseomont in November 2009.
BTW; I did not own the CVF show, I was the Show Manager.
Thanks!
Bashton
If you have any questions about the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals, November 22-23, 2009 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, feel free to e-mail me at bashton426@gmail.com.
And YES; I am proud to announce that Nickey Chicago is indeed the Title Sponsor and Bill Stasek Chevrolet is indeed the Presenting Sponsor of the new show.
For anyone who may have been planning on following up their NCRS and Bloomington Gold certification this season, the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals Triple Diamond certification registration is now open. As previously posted, Bill Braun and his crew are on board!
We will also be accepting reservations at the Bloomington Gold show, so be sure to stop by and see us. We have already received quite a few TD entries, so don't miss out, as we are strictly limited to 50 candidates.
